A knee injury has prevented Davis from playing in the Chargers' last two games, which has resulted in Tarheeb Still and KeAndre Lambert-Smith taking over as returners on punts and kickoffs. Davis would have to return to practice in at least a limited capacity over the next two days in order to have a chance at playing against the Dolphins on Sunday.

Davis will be sidelined for a second consecutive game due to a knee injury that he sustained in Week 3 against the Broncos. Davis (knee) is not present at the early portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Davis sustained a knee injury Week 3 versus the Broncos and was held out of the Chargers' loss to the Giants in Week 4 as a result. For any chance of retaking the field Sunday versus the Commanders, Davis will need to resume practicing in at least a limited capacity Thursday and/or Friday. He hasn't yet been targeted this season but has carried the ball twice for five yards and contributed in the return game.

Chargers' Derius Davis: Ruled out for Sunday
Davis (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Davis was injured in last Sunday's win over the Broncos but was able to return to the game. Now that the adrenaline has worn off, Davis will sit this one out, allowing Hassan Haskins, Ladd McConkey and KeAndre Lambert-Smith to potentially handle return duties for the Chargers.

Davis injured his knee during the first half of Sunday's 23-20 win over the Broncos. He was able to return for the the second half (and proceeded to fumble on his kickoff return early in the third quarter), but the injury has lingered into the week. Davis will have two more opportunities to practice in at least a limited capacity heading into Sunday's contest against the Giants.

Davis (knee) returned to action following halftime in Sunday's contest against the Broncos, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Davis was sidelined with a knee injury prior to the break, but he was able to make it back out there to open the second half. He did end up fumbling on a kickoff return, which the Broncos recovered early in the third quarter.
