Colts' Alec Pierce: Two catches in return
Pierce brought in two of four targets for 48 yards in the Colts' 31-27 win over the Cardinals on Sunday.
Pierce needed just the pair of grabs to finish second on the day in receiving yardage for the Colts. Pierce was making his return from a two-game absence due to a concussion, and the fourth-year pro finished with his third-highest receiving yardage total of the season. Pierce should fill his usual downfield role in a Week 7 road matchup against the Chargers.

Colts' Alec Pierce: Back in fold for Week 6
Head coach Shane Steichen said Friday that Pierce (concussion) will play Sunday against the Cardinals, Amanda Foster of the Colts' official site reports.
Pierce has cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol after missing the Colts' previous two games. He'll reclaim a role in three-receiver sets alongside Josh Downs and Michael Pittman, which will likely snuff out the limited fantasy utility Ashton Dulin and Adonai Mitchell had provided during Pierce's absence.

Colts' Alec Pierce: Practices in full again
Pierce (concussion) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Pierce has missed two straight games but has now logged back-to-back full practices sessions, so he appears to be nearing a return from the concussion protocol. Friday's practice figures to be key for Pierce, who will also need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist before being eligible to return to the starting lineup alongside Michael Pittman and Josh Downs. He's working to gain clearance in time for Sunday's matchup against the Cardinals.

Colts' Alec Pierce: Returns to full practice
Pierce (concussion) practiced fully Wednesday.
Pierce, who has missed two straight contests, practiced fully last Wednesday and Thursday before downgrading to a 'DNP' listing Friday, so his return to a full session this Wednesday's bodes well for his chances of returning to action Sunday against the Cardinals. In that scenario, Pierce would be in line to reclaim his role alongside fellow WRs Michael Pittman and Josh Downs, which thus far has yielded him a 9/171/0 receiving receiving line (on 13 targets) through three contests.

Colts' Alec Pierce: Set to practice Wednesday
Pierce (concussion) is in line to practice Wednesday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Pierce has missed the last two games, but his looming ability to practice Wednesday is a positive step ahead of Sunday's game against the Cardinals. The wideout practiced fully last Wednesday and Thursday before downgrading to a 'DNP' listing Friday, so his level of participation as the Colts begin their Week 6 preparation will be notable.

Colts' Alec Pierce: Won't play Sunday
Pierce (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Amanda Foster of the Colts' official site reports.
Though Pierce practiced fully Wednesday and Thursday, coach Shane Steichen noted Friday that the wideout had a setback, per James Boyd of The Athletic. Pierce remains in the concussion protocol and is set to miss his second straight game, so look for Michael Pittman (hamstring) and Josh Downs to lead the Colts' Week 5 WR corps, with Adonai Mitchell, Ashton Dulin and Anthony Gould representing the team's other healthy options at the position.

Colts' Alec Pierce: Another full practice
Pierce (concussion) practiced fully Thursday.
Back-to-back full sessions have Pierce trending toward returning from his one-game absence, though the Colts' final injury report of the week will be released Friday and will reveal whether he carries a designation into Sunday's game against the Raiders. Meanwhile, fellow wideout Michael Pittman (hamstring) was added to the Colts' injury report after logging a limited practice Thursday.

Colts' Alec Pierce: Logs full practice
Pierce (concussion) practiced fully Wednesday.
Pierce didn't practice last week before being ruled out for this past Sunday's loss to the Rams, but his full participation Wednesday has him trending toward a return to action this weekend against the Raiders. With that in mind, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star noted that Pierce -- who has recorded a 9/171/0 receiving line on 13 targets through three games -- sported a blue jersey during Wednesday's session, a sign that the wideout is in the final step of the NFL's concussion protocol.

Colts' Alec Pierce: Will practice Wednesday
Coach Shane Steichen said Pierce (concussion) will practice Wednesday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
It's unclear if Pierce remains in the concussion protocol after being deemed inactive for the Colts' Week 3 loss to the Rams, but his return to practice Wednesday suggests Pierce has a good chance to play Sunday against the Raiders. He would resume his role on the outside as the Colts' primary deep threat after Adonai Mitchell blundered away a walk-in touchdown against Los Angeles.

Colts' Alec Pierce: Ruled out by Colts
Pierce (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams, Amanda Foster of the Colts' official site reports.
At this stage, Pierce remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, so his next chance to see game action will arrive Sunday, Oct. 5 against the Raiders. In Pierce's absence Sunday, Adonai Mitchell figures to see an expanded Week 4 role alongside fellow WRs Michael Pittman and Josh Downs.

Colts' Alec Pierce: Still not practicing
Pierce (concussion) wasn't spotted at Friday's practice, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Pierce didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, so the wideout appears to be trending toward missing Sunday's game against the Rams. If Pierce is ruled out for the contest, added Week 4 snaps alongside Michael Pittman and Josh Downs would be available for Adonai Mitchell.
