Eagles' Cameron Latu: Signed to active roster
The Eagles signed Latu from the practice squad to the active roster Wednesday.
Latu had been elevated for action Week 2 and Week 3, and he now gets a long-term spot on the 53-man roster due to Philadelphia placing three other players on IR. Expect Latu to continue contributing primarily on special teams while also playing a reserve role on offense as the Eagles travel to Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Cameron Latu: Goes back to practice squad
Latu reverted to the Eagles' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Latu was elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's matchup against the Rams and logged five of the Eagles' 67 offensive snaps without seeing any targets or touches. He's been elevated each of the past two weeks, so Philadelphia can elevate him only once more before Latu would need to be signed to the active roster in order to be able to play.

Latu will be elevated for the second straight week, although he likely won't see much playing time on offense, as Dallas Goedert (knee) is set to return from his one-game absence. Latu was limited in practice earlier this week while tending to a groin injury, but the 2023 third-rounder was cleared to play in Saturday's contest. Latu is battling for a depth spot on the Eagles' 53-man roster, though there wasn't much about Saturday's game to help improve his stock. He'll look to make a bigger impact in the Eagles' preseason finale against the Jets on Friday.

Latu did not participate in Saturday's training camp practice due to a groin injury, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Latu may have picked up the injury during the Eagles' 34-27 preseason win over the Bengals on Thursday, when he played 23 snaps (seven on offense, 16 on special teams) while recording one solo tackle. The 2023 third-rounder has a slim shot of making the Eagles' 53-man roster as a backup tight end, and an extended absence will diminish those chances even further. The Eagles signed Latu to a reserve/future contract Tuesday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Latu spent most of the 2024 regular season on the Browns' practice squad after being waived by the 49ers at the end of training camp in late August. Latu will have an opportunity to work with Eagles' training staff in the spring during OTAs and minicamp, and will aim to earn a spot on the 53-man roster for the 2025 campaign. He has yet to appear in an NFL regular-season game since being selected by San Francisco in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 101st overall.

After being waived by the 49ers after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp, Latu caught on with the Browns on the practice squad. Latu appeared in all three of San Francisco's exhibition contests this preseason, finishing with eight receptions (10 targets) for 84 yards.
