  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Runs for 39 yards Saturday

Tracy rushed seven times for 39 yards in the Giants' 31-12 exhibition win over the Jets on Saturday.

Tracy wasn't targeted in the passing game and was also stuffed on his goal-line carry from the one-yard line. On the next play, Devin Singletary entered the game and punched in the one-yard touchdown. Tracy has carried the ball 10 times this preseason, gaining 48 yards, and with rookie Cam Skattebo (hamstring) missing both exhibitions and multiple practices, Tracy appears locked in atop the depth chart headed into the Week 1 opener against the Commanders in three weeks.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Five touches in preseason opener

Tracy carried the ball three times for nine yards and caught both his targets for seven yards in Saturday's 34-25 preseason win over the Bills.

The second-year running back got the start in the Giants' first exhibition contest but played only one drive before being subbed out for Devin Singletary. Tracy saw heavy volume while he was on the field however, an encouraging sign for his usage in 2025 after a strong rookie campaign that saw him produce 1,123 scrimmage yards and six TDs while playing all 17 regular-season games. Singletary and rookie Cam Skattebo (hamstring) should offer reliable depth, but the path appears to be clear for Tracy to handle a big workload this season.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Atop first unofficial depth chart

Tracy is listed as the No. 1 running back on New York's first unofficial depth chart, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Tracy is unsurprisingly listed as New York's starter, while Devin Singletary and rookie Cam Skattebo (hamstring) occupy the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively. Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com reports that Tracy has displayed improved decisiveness in camp entering Year 2, an encouraging development given that the 2024 fifth-round pick's impressive rookie season nonetheless left room for growth (especially in terms of ball security and work as a receiver). Improvements will be necessary for Tracy to retain an unquestioned grip on a full-time starting workload, though he remains the clear favorite to open Week 1 in such a role. Skattebo had begun gathering steam early in camp before picking up a soft-tissue injury, with coach Brian Daboll calling the rookie fourth-rounder day-to-day over the weekend.
