Sterns (knee) was waived by the Eagles with a failed physical designation Tuesday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Sterns signed with the Eagles on Aug. 11 but quickly suffered a knee injury. If the safety clears waivers, he'll revert to a reserve list with Philadelphia, which will force him to miss at least the first four games of the 2024 season.

Sterns was waived by the Broncos on Monday, and it didn't take long for the 2021 fifth-round pick to find a new home. The concern for Sterns has been his inability to stay on the field in his three-year career. Denver was looking to deal Sterns after the 24-year-old missed 28 regular-season games over the past two seasons, but the team failed to find a trade partner and waived him instead. The Texas product has appeared in only 21 regular-season games across his three years in the NFL, recording 36 total tackles, including 2.0 sacks, while also defending nine passes, with four interceptions. Expect Sterns to find a new home quickly, as he could be an enticing option for a team searching for a depth piece in the secondary.

Broncos' Caden Sterns: Activated off PUP list
Denver activated Sterns (knee) from the active/PUP list Sunday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Sterns has been working his way back from a torn patellar tendon in his knee that he sustained in Week 1 of last season. The 2021 fifth-round pick out of Texas has played in just six regular-season games over the last two seasons due to various injuries. In his rookie season, Sterns registered 28 tackles (22 solo), including 2.0 sacks, five passes defended and two interceptions across 15 regular-season games. Sterns will now be able to participate in practices and preseason games, and he's slated to serve as the Broncos' starting strong safety.
