Texans' British Brooks: Receives two red-zone carries
Brooks had two carries for zero yards in Sunday's 18-15 loss to the Broncos in Week 9.
Brooks was surprisingly allotted two consecutive carries at the goal-line in the first quarter and was stuffed by Denver's interior line on both. Those were two of the five running plays called inside the Broncos' two-yard line during the game that failed to get into the end zone, and Houston failed to produce a touchdown in three red-zone possessions. Brooks has four total carries for 15 yards this season and is a regular on special teams.

Texans' British Brooks: No usage in Week 8
Brooks played 11 of the Texans' 80 snaps on offense but didn't record any touches in Sunday's 26-15 win over the 49ers.
Brooks has been active for five of the Texans' first seven games this season but has been deployed mainly as on the team's kick-coverage and return units, logging nearly three times as many snaps on special teams as offense. The Houston backfield would likely need to lose multiple contributors to injury before Brooks is called upon to play meaningful snaps on offense.

Texans' British Brooks: Logs two carries in win
Brooks had two rushes for 15 yards in Sunday's 44-10 win over Baltimore in Week 5.
Brooks was one of five running backs for the game and played 11 snaps. Houston won its second consecutive game while running the ball more than passing it, which may explain why so many backs were active. Brooks had been a healthy scratch Weeks 1 and 3 before suiting up the last two games.

Texans' British Brooks: On active roster Week 2
Brooks was on the active roster but did not play on offense in Monday's 20-19 loss to the Buccaneers.
Brooks was active for the first time in 2025, as the Texans somewhat surprisingly made Dameon Pierce inactive, but he was limited to special teams duty. Nick Chubb performed as the main back, with Woody Marks and Dare Ogunbowale in depth roles.

Texans' British Brooks: Won't play Week 1
Brooks (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Rams.
The Texans will go with a four-man backfield that includes Nick Chubb, Dameon Pierce, Dare Ogunbowale and Woody Marks, which means Brooks will be in street clothes for Sunday's regular-season opener. Brooks' next chance to play is Week 2 against the Buccaneers on Monday, Sept. 15, though he's unlikely to play in that contest unless there's an injury in Houston's backfield.

Texans' British Brooks: On roster bubble
Brooks is one of five running backs projected to make the initial 53-man roster, per DJ Bein-Aime of ESPN.com.
There's a big caveat to Brooks grabbing one of those spots; it may depend on whether the Texans have Joe Mixon (ankle) open the season on the reserve/non-football injury list. Brooks has experience on special teams and at fullback, so that versatility could win him a spot outright, but the most likely path involves Mixon being unavailable for Week 1.

Texans' British Brooks: Logs one catch in preseason loss
Brooks secured his only target for three yards during Saturday's 20-10 preseason loss to the Vikings.
Brooks had his rookie year cut short after five regular-season appearances due to a torn meniscus, but he now appears back to full health. He faces tough competition for a reserve spot on the 53-man roster, with all of Woody Marks, Dare Ogunbowale, Jawhar Jordan and J.J. Taylor competing for opportunities behind Joe Mixon (foot), Nick Chubb (head) and Dameon Pierce.

Texans' British Brooks: Undergoes surgery
Brooks underwent knee surgery Thursday to repair a torn meniscus, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Brooks sustained the injury during Week 5's win over the Bills. He is expected to make a full recovery in time for organized team activities next spring.
