Giants' Dante Miller: Makes final case for roster spot
Miller rushed 11 times for 41 yards and caught all three of his targets for 12 yards in Thursday's 42-10 preseason win over New England.
Miller was handed an opportunity to showcase his skills in New York's final exhibition, as he logged 48 percent of the team's offensive snaps and handled more carries than the Giants' other running backs combined. The results were mixed for Miller -- while he led New York with 41 rushing yards, he averaged just 3.7 yards per carry, and his longest run went for a modest eight yards. However, Miller's most impressive work during the preseason has been as a receiver out of the backfield, as he nabbed all 14 of this targets for 135 yards over the Giants' three games. Tyrone Tracy is locked in as New York's RB1, with Devin Singletary and Cam Skattebo slated to handle the bulk of the backup work. That leaves Miller battling with Eric Gray (undisclosed) for one of the team's final roster spots. Gray didn't play in any preseason contests, as he's been on the active/PUP list throughout training camp. Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post projects Miller to make New York's initial 53-man roster with Gray potentially remaining on the PUP list when the regular season kicks off.

Giants' Dante Miller: Shines in passing game again
Miller rushed five times for 17 yards in Saturday's 31-12 exhibition win over the Jets. He added four catches on four targets for 43 yards.
Miller finished second on New York in rushing yards and third in receiving yards. He's found tough sledding on the ground through two preseason games, averaging a meager 2.6 yards on 10 carries, but has been quite impressive in the passing game, tallying 11 receptions on 11 targets for 123 yards. Tyrone Tracy, Devin Singletary and Cam Skattebo (hamstring) are likely locked in as New York's top three running backs, but Miller has a path to a roster spot as RB4, especially with Eric Gray (undisclosed) still on the PUP list and yet to participate in training camp.

Giants' Dante Miller: Strengthens push for roster spot
Miller received team recognition as the Giants' offensive player of the game following Saturday's preseason win over the Bills, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. The running back finished the contest with 10 carries for 22 yards and seven receptions on seven targets for 80 yards.
New York's running game was mostly stifled in the matchup, so though Miller logged only 22 yards on the ground, that was second-most on the team behind Jaxson Dart's 24 yards. Where Miller really shined, though, was in the passing game -- he led New York in both receptions and receiving yards while constantly picking up extra yards after catches. Miller also got the bulk of work out of the backfield for the team, logging 41 offensive snaps, while No. 1 RB Tyrone Tracy got just five and backup Devin Singletary notched 12. It's worth noting that rookie Cam Skattebo (hamstring) didn't suit up, but he's almost certainly ahead of Miller on the depth chart as well. That said, Miller is a viable contender for No. 4 RB duties, especially with Eric Gray (undisclosed) still on the PUP list and far from a lock to make the final roster.

Giants' Dante Miller: Inactive for regular-season finale
Miller (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Miller was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, but the undrafted free agent out of South Carolina will not play in Sunday's regular-season finale as the Giants roll with a three-man backfield of rookie Tyrone Tracy, Devin Singletary and Eric Gray. Miller was elevated to the 53-man roster for Week 5 and 6 and played eight snaps (one on offense, seven on special teams) across the two games, but otherwise did not show up on the box score.

Giants' Dante Miller: Added to roster for Week 18
The Giants signed Miller from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Miller has spent the majority of the season on New York's practice squad, though he did get two elevations during the campaign. In those games, he recorded a combined seven snaps on special teams and one snap on offense. Miller could get a bit more opportunity Sunday against Philadelphia with the Giants having nothing to play for except draft-pick slotting, but he's still expected to be fourth on the running-back depth chart behind Tyrone Tracy, Devin Singletary and Eric Gray.

Dante Miller: Returns to practice squad
Miller reverted to the Giants' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
The running back was elevated to the active roster for the second straight game due to Devin Singletary's groin injury. Miller, though, did not play an offensive snap in New York's 17-7 loss to Cincinnati. He did play on seven special-teams snaps and assisted on a tackle in punt coverage.

Giants' Dante Miller: Elevated to active roster again
Miller was elevated to the Giants' active roster Saturday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Miller will be on the active roster for the second consecutive week, as Devin Singletary (groin) was ruled out again. Miller played only one offensive snap in Week 5 and will likely play a minimal role once again in Week 6.

Dante Miller: Back to practice squad
Miller reverted to the Giants' practice squad Monday.
Miller was elevated to help the backfield depth with Devin Singletary (groin) inactive. However, the South Carolina product saw just one snap on offense and didn't run the ball, while Tyrone Tracy and Eric Gray handled the rest of the work.

Giants' Dante Miller: Elevated for backfield depth
The Giants elevated Miller from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Devin Singletary (groin) is doubtful to play Sunday against the Seahawks, so the Giants will bring up Miller to provide insurance in the backfield behind Tyrone Tracy and Eric Gray. Miller opted to stick around with Big Blue on the practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp.

Dante Miller: Gets cut loose
Miller (hamstring) was waived by the Giants on Tuesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Miller was dealing with a hamstring injury last week but it doesn't appear the team waived him with an injury designation, so he should be considered healthy. The South Carolina product was impressive when he was able to suit up in preseason and camp, making him a likely practice-squad candidate for another team or the Giants themselves, if he clears waivers.

Giants' Dante Miller: Limited in Tuesday's practice
Miller (hamstring) was a limited participant at practice Tuesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Miller rushed for 63 yards on 12 carries in the Giants' preseason opener against the Lions, but he was unable to suit up for Saturday's contest against the Texans due to a hamstring injury. He'll be slowly worked back into practice in the hopes he can suit up for Saturday's preseason finale against the Jets. Miller is competing for a depth spot at running back behind starter Devin Singletary.

Giants' Dante Miller: Dealing with hamstring injury
Miller (hamstring) was limited at practice Tuesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Miller impressed during New York's preseason opener against the Lions, when he rushed 12 times for 63 yards and secured both of his targets for seven yards, but he's now dealing with a hamstring injury that could impact his status for Saturday's exhibition game against Houston. With Tyrone Tracy (ankle) having suffered a low-ankle sprain at practice Tuesday, Miller is facing an opportunity for increased reps if he can get healthy without missing much time.

Giants' Dante Miller: Impressive in preseason opener
Miller tallied 63 yards on 12 carries and caught both of his passing targets for seven yards in a preseason win against Detroit on Thursday.
Miller led Giants running backs with 26 offensive snaps in the exhibition contest. That doesn't indicate his place on the depth chart -- in fact, it more likely suggests that he's near the bottom of the pecking order -- but the 25-year-old nonetheless took advantage of the opportunity, leading New York with 63 rushing yards on a healthy 5.3 YPC. Miller impressively ended the third quarter with a nine-yard rush after the Giants had been pinned back at their own four-yard line, and he added a 19-yard carry two plays into the fourth. While Devin Singletary is secure in his starting RB role and both Tyrone Tracy and Eric Gray looked good as the most likely No. 2 and No. 3 options Thursday, Miller could certainly carve out a role for New York this season and give himself a chance to rise up the depth chart with continued strong play.

Giants' Dante Miller: Impressive in training camp
Miller has shown off his quickness during training camp and is carving out a role in the Giants' backfield, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Miller joined the Giants in April after last playing at the University of South Carolina in 2022. He has showcased his quickness during training camp, including on a run Tuesday in which he bounced to the outside for a big gain, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com. If Miller can perform well in practice and preseason games, he could surpass Tyrone Tracy and Eric Gray for the No. 2 running back job behind starter Devin Singletary.
