Lions' Kerby Joseph: Possible IR candidate
Lions head coach Dan Campbell said Friday that Joseph (knee) is a possible injured reserve candidate, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Joseph appeared as a limited participant in practice Wednesday but appeared to have suffered a setback after no participation Thursday or Friday. It looks as though the 25-year-old is set to miss an extended period of time, and it's currently unknown when he will return this season. Thomas Harper will remain as a starting safety in Kerby's absence.

Lions' Kerby Joseph: Unable to practice Thursday
Joseph (knee) did not participate in Thursday's practice.
Joseph logged a limited session Wednesday before downgrading to a non-participant Thursday. The downturn in practice participation bodes poorly for the safety's chances to suit up for Sunday's game against the Rams. Joseph will have one more chance to practice Friday, but if he is unable to log at least a limited session, it is unlikely he will be able to play Sunday.

Lions' Kerby Joseph: Returns to practice
Joseph (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
Joseph is in an odd position, having been sidelined since Week 7 yet never placed on injured reserve. He failed to practice the last two days before Detroit's Week 14 win over the Cowboys, so his return to practice Wednesday is a positive. Nevertheless, his status for a Week 15 matchup against the Rams remains unclear.

Lions' Kerby Joseph: Won't play versus Cowboys
Joseph (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's game versus the Cowboys.
Joseph hasn't played since suffering a knee injury in Week 6 versus the Chiefs, but he was never placed on injured reserve. The 2022 third-round pick was a non-participant during practice Tuesday and Wednesday. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, Joseph is hopeful to play in Week 15 versus the Rams. He'll need to ramp up his practice time next week first, and until he returns, Thomas Harper will remain the team's starting free safety.

Lions' Kerby Joseph: Intends to return in 2025
Joseph has been sidelined since Week 6 due to a knee injury, but the fourth-year safety intends to return in 2025 and seek treatment for his injury during the offseason, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
Joseph has not been placed on the Lions' injured reserve despite the prolonged absence. He returned to practice as a limited participant Monday -- his first action since the injury -- but did not participate in Tuesday's session. Joseph faces an uphill battle to be cleared to play against the Cowboys on Thursday, but with more practices under his belt, he could be available for the Lions' Week 15 road tilt against the Rams on Sunday, Dec. 14.

Lions' Kerby Joseph: Back at practice Monday
Joseph (knee) returned to practice Monday, getting in a limited session, Colton Pouncy of The Athletic reports.
Joseph has been sidelined since Week 6 but appears to be nearing a return to action, as the Lions make a push for the postseason. Thomas Harper has been starting at safety in Joseph's absence. Joseph (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Packers.
Joseph will end up missing a sixth consecutive game due to a knee injury he picked up in Week 6 against the Chiefs. His next opportunity to play is Week 14 against the Cowboys on Thursday, Dec. 4, though he's unlikely to be available for that game unless he returns to practice in at least a limited capacity.

Joseph (knee) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report.

Lions' Kerby Joseph: Still not practicing
Joseph (knee) didn't practice Thursday.
Joseph hurt his knee against Kansas City in Week 6 and hasn't practiced since. The Lions have thus far decided against putting the talented safety on IR, but it's not clear how much longer he'll be out. Joseph would almost certainly need to practice in some capacity Friday to have any chance of playing Sunday against the Giants.
