49ers' Brock Purdy: Looks good in preseason debut
Purdy completed five of seven pass attempts for 66 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in a 22-19 exhibition win over the Raiders on Saturday.
Purdy was held out of San Francisco's preseason opener against Denver last Saturday, but he got the start and played one series against Las Vegas. The fourth-year QB led the 49ers down the field for a 30-yard field goal on that drive, connecting with Ricky Pearsall three times for 42 yards along the way. All told, it was a strong performance by Purdy in his first game action since signing a massive five-year, $265 million contract extension in May.

49ers' Brock Purdy: To play a few series
Purdy is scheduled to play a series or two during Saturday's preseason matchup against the Raiders, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Purdy's exact playing time will be dependent on how long the 49ers' first few offensive series last, meaning he could be limited to one drive if it's a long one. Offensive playmakers George Kittle, Ricky Pearsall and Demarcus Robinson are dressed and appear in line to play Saturday, per Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News, though wideouts Jauan Jennings (calf), Jacob Cowing (hamstring) and Jordan Watkins (ankle) all appear likely to remain sidelined. Brandon Aiyuk (ACL), meanwhile, remains on the active/PUP list and may not be ready for regular-season action until around Week 6.

49ers' Brock Purdy: Set for preseason reps
San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said Thursday that he expects Purdy and "some" starters will suit up for Saturday's preseason game against the Raiders, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Purdy thus appears poised to make his preseason debut Saturday, though he may be tasked with operating without wide receivers Jauan Jennings (calf), Jacob Cowing (hamstring) and Jordan Watkins (ankle), in addition to Brandon Aiyuk (ACL), who remains on the active/PUP list and may be sidelined until Week 6. Ricky Pearsall and Demarcus Robinson look set to operate as Purdy's top two wide receivers Saturday, while it remains to be seen whether Shanahan will opt to rest veteran playmakers Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle.

Purdy didn't warm up and isn't likely to play in Saturday's preseason game against Denver, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Purdy is among a slew of 49ers healthy regulars, including Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle and Ricky Pearsall on offense and Nick Bosa and Fred Warner on defense, who don't appear to be playing in the preseason opener. Mac Jones figures to get a good look behind center against the Broncos.

Purdy is a candidate to sit out Saturday's preseason opener against the Broncos, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Per Inman, look for most of the 49ers' usual starters to sit out the contest, with coach Kyle Shanahan acknowledging that the team "won't play a ton of them. Doesn't mean we will rest all 22. But don't expect to see a lot out there" Saturday. With that in mind, it's worth noting that Purdy didn't play in San Francisco's preseason opener the past two years, but he did make cameos in the team's following exhibition tilts.
