Vikings' Tavierre Thomas: Inks deal with Minnesota
The Vikings agreed to terms with Thomas on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old appeared in all 17 regular-season games for the Bucs last season and recorded 14 tackles (eight solo) as a key member of Tampa Bay's special-teams units. He logged 388 snaps in kick coverage and just 45 on defense. He'll fill a similar role with the Vikings.

Buccaneers' Tavierre Thomas: Cross-training at multiple spots
Thomas is seeing reps at nickelback, strong safety and free safety early in training camp, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Thomas signed with the Buccaneers this offseason after spending the last three seasons with the Texans, arriving with extensive experience playing the slot and 22 career starts overall. Thomas has already recorded two interceptions in the first three days of camp, and head coach Todd Bowles is taking advantage of the six-year veteran's versatility by having him cross-train at three positions in order to maximize his value to the secondary.

Buccaneers' Tavierre Thomas: Finds new opportunity
Thomas (hamstring) is signing a one-year contract with the Buccaneers on Monday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Thomas spent the last three seasons in Houston, with his 2023 campaign cut short after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 14. The veteran corner is expected to compete for the nickel job and contribute on special teams, according to Auman.

Texans' Tavierre Thomas: Moved to IR
Thomas (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Thomas suffered a hamstring injury in last Sunday's loss to the Jets and had already been ruled out for Week 15 against the Titans. With his placement on IR, he'll now be ineligible to return during the regular season. Thomas could come back for the first week of the postseason if Houston qualifies.

Thomas is "expected to miss a few weeks" after sustaining a hamstring injury in Sunday's 30-6 loss to the Jets, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Thomas saw his defensive snap count rise from Weeks 8 to 12 before reverting back to special teams duties the last two weeks. He has 51 tackles (30 solo) and two forced fumbles in nine game this season.

Texans' Tavierre Thomas: Forced out Sunday
Thomas was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Jets with a hamstring injury.
Thomas saw significant playing time as Houston's third cornerback from Week 8 to Week 11. However, his defensive snaps took a dip Week 12, and he then played exclusively on special teams in last week's win against the Broncos. His absence will leave the Texans without one of their core special-teamers and will potentially open up more opportunities for reserve cornerbacks Ka'dar Hollman and D'Angelo Ross. Thomas' next opportunity to play will come Sunday, Dec. 17 versus Tennessee.

Texans' Tavierre Thomas: Second-most tackles in win
Thomas had nine tackles (seven solo) and a forced fumble in Sunday's 39-37 win over the Buccaneers.
Working behind starters Steven Nelson and Shaquill Griffin, Thomas registered the second-most tackles on the team operating as the slot cornerback. He missed four games earlier this season dealing with a hand injury, but he has registered 16 total tackles in his last two outings while playing 97 defensive snaps across the two contests.
