Colts' Charvarius Ward: Cleared for Week 3
Ward has cleared concussion protocol and no longer carries an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Titans.
Ward -- who was inactive Week 2 -- had been listed as questionable after practicing fully this week, and now that he's been medically cleared, the cornerback will be available to reclaim his starting job in the Colts' secondary Sunday. In Week 1, Ward recorded a 94 percent snap share and made six tackles in a 33-8 win over the Dolphins.

Ward (concussion) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans.
Ward practiced in full Thursday and Friday but has one more hurdle to clear in the league's concussion protocol, according to James Boyd of The Athletic. As long as everything goes as planned, Ward seems likely to be on the field Sunday in Tennessee.

Colts' Charvarius Ward: Ruled out against Broncos
Ward (concussion) won't play Sunday against the Broncos, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Ward has yet to clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol and will remain ineligible to suit up until he clears the protocol. His practice participation will bear monitoring ahead of a Week 3 trip to Tennessee. Mekhi Blackmon and Johnathan Edwards are the top candidates for increased Week 2 roles in Ward's absence.

Ward (concussion) was a non-participant in Wednesday's practice.
Ward landed in concussion protocol Monday after playing every defensive snap for the Colts in their Week 1 win over Miami. It appears he hasn't yet cleared protocol, which puts his status for Sunday's Week 2 matchup versus Denver in peril. If Ward isn't able to suit up for that game, Mekhi Blackmon or Johnathan Edwards may be asked to slide into a starting role.

Colts' Charvarius Ward: In concussion protocol
Head coach Shane Steichen told reporters that Ward is in concussion protocol after displaying symptoms Monday morning, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.
Despite being in concussion protocol Monday morning, Ward played 100 percent of the Colts' defensive snaps in Week 1, recording six total tackles. The veteran corner signed a three-year, $60 million deal with Indianapolis this past offseason after spending the last three years of his career with the 49ers, earning second-team All-Pro honors in 2023. His practice participation throughout the week will likely serve as the best indication of whether he can suit up for a Week 2 matchup against the Broncos on Sunday.
