J.C. Hassenauer: Parts ways with Commanders
Hassenauer was released by Washington on Friday in conjunction with the signing of Cameron Tom, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Hassenauer will leave the Commanders less than a month after he was signed. He'll now be in search of a new team as his depth role at center with Washington will be filled by Tom.

The Commanders signed Hassenauer (triceps) to a contract Tuesday.
Hassenauer missed the entire 2023 campaign due to a triceps injury, but he's now healthy and has passed his physical. He figures to compete for a depth role at center and/or guard in Washington.

Giants' J.C. Hassenauer: Moved to IR
Hassenauer (triceps) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday,Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Hassenauer suffered the injury Sunday, and it was expected that he'd be out long term, so this move doesn't necessarily come as a surprise. He'll now have to focus on getting healthy and being ready for the 2024 campaign.

Giants' J.C. Hassenauer: Needs surgery
Hassenauer suffered a torn triceps during practice Sunday, an injury which will require surgery, Mike Moraitis of GiantsWire reports.
Hassenauer was competing for a job at center in his first season in New York after spending the previous three years with the Steelers. It's unclear what exactly the time frame will be for his recovery; however, head coach Brian Daboll did state he expected Hassenauer to be out long-term, according to Moraitis. This will leave the center competition down to John Michael Schmitz, Ben Bredeson, Shane Lemieux and Jack Anderson.

Steelers' J.C. Hassenauer: Signs tender from Pittsburgh
Hassenauer signed his exclusive rights free agent tender with the Steelers on Tuesday, Dale Lolley of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
Hassenauer appeared in 13 games during the 2021 campaign and will return for at least one more season after signing a one-year deal with Pittsburgh. He's expected to compete with Mason Cole -- who was signed to a three-year deal this offseason -- for the starting center gig, though Hassenauer will likely end up operating as a depth piece at all three interior offensive line spots.

Steelers' J.C. Hassenauer: Returns to active roster
Hassenauer (pectoral) was activated from IR on Saturday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Hassenauer suffered the injury in Week 11 against the Chargers and was designated to return Dec. 15. He should return to his role of providing depth at guard and center Sunday against the Chiefs.
