Titans' James Lynch: Re-signs with Titans
The Titans re-signed Lynch on Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Lynch is set to return to Tennessee, where he recorded 20 tackles (six solo), including 1.0 sacks, and two pass defections during the 2024 campaign. He will likely serve as a depth defender during the upcoming season and can contribute on special teams as well.

Titans' James Lynch: Solid production in 2024
Lynch finished the 2024 season with 20 total tackles (six solo), including 2.0 sacks, while also adding two passes defensed over 17 regular-season games.
Lynch signed a one-year deal with Tennessee in September, appearing in all of the team's contests while operating as a depth option at defensive end behind Sebastian Joseph-Day and Jeffery Simmons. Lynch will enter the offseason as an unrestricted free agent and he'll likely garner plenty of interest on the open market.

Vikings' James Lynch: Clear of knee injury
Lynch (knee) started and logged 27 defensive snaps, along with one snap on special teams, during Minnesota's preseason win over Cleveland on Saturday.
Lynch finished with three assisted tackles in the exhibition contest. He had registered 18 defensive snaps and five special-teams snaps during the Vikings' preseason opener against Las Vegas on Aug. 10. Lynch appears to be past the ACL tear that cost him all of last season, and he is battling for a depth spot on the 53-man roster as a backup defensive lineman.

Lynch suffered a torn ACL during practice Thursday, so the move doesn't come as a surprise. The 24-year-old had a regular role in the team's defensive line rotation in both of the last two seasons and was expected to do so again in 2023. He'll now focus on getting healthy for the 2024 campaign.

Lynch suffered a torn ACL in Thursday's practice, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
A fourth-round pick in the 2020 Draft, Lynch missed the final two games of last season with a shoulder injury and will now be sidelined for all of 2023. Lynch played 276 defensive snaps a year ago and has just two career sacks. He's scheduled to become a free agent in March.

After suffering a shoulder injury in Saturday's win over the Giants, Lynch is expected to pull back and rehab the injury for the final two games of the regular season, setting his sights on a potential postseason return. The 23-year-old will finish the 2022 campaign with 20 tackles while appearing in a career-high 15 contests. In Lynch's absence, Esezi Otomewo could garner a larger role moving forward.

Vikings' James Lynch: No practice Monday
Lynch (ankle) did not practice Monday after sustaining a minor injury during Saturday's preseason contest against the Broncos, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
The injury does not appear to be all that serious, but Minnesota may elect to keep him sidelined for its second preseason game against the Colts on Aug. 21. Lynch appeared in nine games for the Vikings during his rookie season, registering three tackles and one sack. The 2020 fourth-round pick is firmly supplanted behind Michael Pierce, Dalvin Tomlinson and Sheldon Richardson on Minnesota's defensive tackle depth chart.

The Vikings selected Lynch in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 130th overall.
The Vikings have opted to double-dip at defensive line in the fourth round, having already selected edge D.J. Wonnum at 117 overall. For his part, Baylor's Lynch brings imposing 6-foot-4, 289-pound size and the strength to offer developmental potential as an interior pass rusher. Following the departures of Linval Joseph, Stephen Weatherly and Everson Griffen, it wouldn't be out of the question for Lynch to get a shot as a starter during his rookie season.
