Eagles' Patrick Johnson: Back with Philly
Johnson signed a one-year deal with the Eagles on March 14.
The 2021 seventh-round pick of the Eagles spent his first three plus seasons with the team before being waived last September. Johnson was claimed by the Giants and played in 12 games with his new team before suffering a knee injury and missing the last three contests of the regular season. The linebacker recorded four tackles (three solo) in 2024 and has played more on special teams than defense in all four of his NFL seasons.

Giants' Patrick Johnson: Headed to IR
The Giants placed Johnson (knee) on injured reserve Saturday.
Johnson sustained a knee injury during last week's loss to the Ravens, and he did not practice before being ruled out ahead of this Sunday's game against the Falcons. The fourth-year linebacker totaled four tackles while serving as a core special-teamer in 12 games with the Giants.

Johnson's absence in Week 16 comes as no surprise, as the Tulane product was unable to practice all week due to a knee injury. Tomon Fox could see increased snaps as one of the Giants' key special-teamers with Johnson sidelined Sunday.

Johnson (ankle) will not practice Wednesday, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
Johnson seemed to suffer a knee injury during Friday's practice, but the Eagles injury report Wednesday clarified that the issue is in his ankle. The 25-year-old has primarily played on special teams throughout his two seasons with Philadelphia, recording 28 tackles in 33 appearances. As of now, the extent of Johnson's injury is unknown, but Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Friday that it could "potentially be season-ending."
