Steelers' Calvin Austin: Paces Steelers' pass catchers
Austin recorded five receptions on six targets for 56 yards in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Colts.
Austin led the Steelers' pass catchers in receptions and yards while tying Darnell Washington in targets. As is typically the case, he was targeted in short areas of the field, though he did manage gains of 18 and 14 yards primarily on yards after the catch. Austin is a key part of Pittsburgh's passing game, though he's reached 30 yards in only half of his six games, minimizing his fantasy impact.

Steelers' Calvin Austin: Tallies 28 yards in defeat
Austin secured four of six targets for 28 yards during Sunday's 35-25 loss to the Packers.
Austin missed Pittsburgh's last two games due to a shoulder injury, but he played 78 percent of the team's offensive snaps in his return to the field Sunday, which ranked second among the team's wide receivers. However, DK Metcalf and Roman Wilson accounted for most of the Steelers' receiving yards Sunday, while Austin was held under 30 yards for the third time in his last four appearances. Austin has secured 14 of 23 targets for 167 yards and two touchdowns over his first five outings in 2025.

Steelers' Calvin Austin: Returns to practice
Austin (shoulder) is returning to practice Wednesday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that he's optimistic about Austin returning for Sunday's game against the Packers. Austin hasn't played or practiced since Week 4, missing a bye and two games in the interim. The backup wideouts haven't done much in Austin's absence, with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith instead relying on his tight ends even more than he usually does. Austin was a pleasant surprise for Pittsburgh early in the season with 126 yards and two TDs on 15 targets over his first three games.

Steelers' Calvin Austin: Logs full practice
Austin (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Wednesday.
Full participation in his first practice since Week 4 puts Austin on track to return this Sunday against the Packers. Pittsburgh's backup wideouts haven't done much in Austin's absence, with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith instead relying on his tight ends even more than he usually does. Austin was a pleasant surprise for Pittsburgh early in the season with 126 yards and two TDs on 15 targets over his first three games.

Steelers' Calvin Austin: Could be back for Week 8
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that he's "optimistic" that Austin (shoulder) will be able to play in Sunday's game against the Packers, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports.
Austin has missed the Steelers' last two games with a shoulder injury, but Tomlin noted that the wideout has made enough progress in his recovery to be integrated back into practices this week. The extent of Austin's participation in practice will ultimately dictate whether he plays Sunday, but if the 26-year-old is able to turn in at least one full session by Friday, he'll have good odds of gaining clearance to suit up. Through four appearances this season, Austin has recorded 10 receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns on 17 targets.

Steelers' Calvin Austin: Sitting out Thursday's game
Austin (shoulder) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Bengals, Nick Farabaugh of Penn Live reports.
He hasn't practiced since a Week 5 bye and will now miss as second straight game. Austin's absence from win over the Browns this past Sunday left more playing time available for Scotty Miller (50 percent route share) and Roman Wilson (27 percent), but they combined for just one target -- a 12-yard reception by Wilson. Pittsburgh's passing game will likely run through wideout DK Metcalf along with the tight ends and running backs.

Steelers' Calvin Austin: Estimated as DNP on Monday
Austin (shoulder) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Coach Mike Tomlin said earlier Monday that Austin is questionable for Thursday night's game against the Bengals after he missed the Week 6 win over the Browns following his injury Week 4. Scotty Miller, Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek would be in line for increased offensive snaps Week 7 if Austin is unable to play, but none of that aforementioned trio would carry any sort of fantasy value in season-long leagues.

Steelers' Calvin Austin: Questionable for Week 7
Coach Mike Tomlin said Monday that Austin's (shoulder) status is in question for Thursday night's game against the Bengals, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Austin was injured in the Steelers' Week 4 win over the Vikings and then missed this past Sunday's Week 6 contest against the Browns following Pittsburgh's Week 5 bye. It sounds like he may need another week to recover due to the short week ahead. If Austin does indeed miss Thursday night's game, he'll have 10 days to get ready for a Week 8 date with the Packers. With Austin out versus Cleveland, Scotty Miller, Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek split wide receiver duties behind DK Metcalf. However, the Steelers leaned more on three-tight end sets rather than multiple wideouts.

Steelers' Calvin Austin: Sits out practice
Austin (shoulder) didn't participate in Tuesday's practice, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Still on the mend from the shoulder injury he sustained in a Week 4 win over the Vikings in Dublin, Austin has yet to resume practicing and appears to be trending toward missing a second straight game Thursday against the Bengals. While Austin was sidelined for this past Sunday's win over the Browns, Scotty Miller and Roman Wilson both benefited from upticks in playing time behind No. 1 wideout DK Metcalf but combined for just one reception.
