The Seahawks activated Faoliu (knee) from the reserve/PUP list Monday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.

Faoliu began the campaign on the PUP list while continuing to recover from knee surgery he underwent following the conclusion of the XFL season earlier in 2023. He was designated to return Oct. 25 and will now get a chance to make his first NFL appearance since 2021. Faoliu will look to impress as a rotational piece on Seattle's defensive line.

  • Seahawks' Austin Faoliu: Moves to reserve/PUP list

Seattle placed Faoliu (knee) on the reserve/PUP list Tuesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Faoliu continues to recover from a knee surgery he underwent following the 2023 XFL season and will be forced to miss the first four games of the 2023 NFL campaign. When healthy, the 24-year-old defensive tackle should compete for a rotational role along Seattle's defensive line.

Faoliu is still in recovery after having surgery on his knee following the 2023 XFL season, according to head coach Pete Carroll. The 6-foot-3 nose tackle was named to the All-XFL team after his season with the Seattle Sea Dragons. He also briefly played with the Cowboys for one game in 2021. There is currently no timetable for his return.

  • Seahawks' Austin Faoliu: Recovering from surgery

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said June 8 that Faoliu underwent knee surgery following the 2023 XFL season, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Carroll didn't elaborate on the exact timing of Faoliu's surgery, but he suggested that it was mostly a cleanup procedure. The 24-year-old earned all-XFL honors after posted 24 tackles and a sack while playing with the Seattle Sea Dragons this spring. Faoliu then received an invite to the Seahawks' rookie minicamp, and he became the first tryout player to sign with the team in May, per Condotta. When healthy, Faoliu will look to compete for a depth role along Seattle's defensive line during training camp and the preseason.
