Dresser Winn: Doesn't crack Rams' 53-man squad
The Rams waived Winn on Sunday.
Winn got the start in Saturday's preseason finale against the Browns, when he completed 15 of 23 passes for 190 yards and one touchdown while being sacked four times and rushing for seven yards on three carries. He has not played in an NFL regular-season game since entering the league in May of 2023 as an undrafted free agent. Assuming he clears waivers, Winn will look to catch on with another team in need of a practice squad quarterback.

Rams' Dresser Winn: Signs with Rams
Winn signed with the Rams on Monday, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports.
Since signing with the Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and also spent time with the UFL's Memphis Showboats during the spring league's 2025 season. Winn has yet to appear in an NFL regular-season game, however, and he faces an uphill climb this year as well on a depth chart that features Matthew Stafford, Jimmy Garoppolo and Stetson Bennett ahead of him.

Rams' Dresser Winn: Signs reserve/future deal with Rams
The Rams signed Winn to a reserve/future contract Monday, Stu Jackson of the team's official site reports.
Winn signed with Los Angeles as an undrafted free agent in early May and spent most of the season on the team's practice squad. He was elevated twice during the campaign but didn't get into any games. Winn's reserve/future deal will allow him to compete for a roster spot during training camp this summer.

Dresser Winn: Heads back to practice squad
The Rams reverted Winn to the practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Winn was called up for the Rams' regular-season finale to serve as the backup to Carson Wentz with Matthew Stafford (coach's decision) resting. It was the second time Winn was elevated to the active roster, with the first instance taking place in Week 9 against the Packers.

Rams' Dresser Winn: Joins active roster
The Rams elevated Winn to their active roster Saturday.
Winn's elevation will add some extra depth to Los Angeles' quarterback room due to Matthew Stafford (coach's decision) being likely missing the team's regular season finale. The UT Martin product is expected to serve as the Rams' No. 2 QB behind Carson Wentz in Week 18.

Dresser Winn: Joins Rams' practice squad
The Rams signed Winn to their practice squad Tuesday.
The Rams cut Winn from their practice squad back in early November, but they've now decided to bring him back into the fold ahead of Week 18. Assuming Matthew Stafford and Carson Wentz remain healthy, Winn will probably remain on the practice squad for the rest of the season.

Dresser Winn: Moves back to practice squad
Winn was reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Winn was elevated to the active roster ahead of Sunday's Week 9 loss to Green Bay, but he didn't get into the game. The 24-year-old out of UT Martin served as the backup to Brett Rypien in that contest with Matthew Stafford out with an injured thumb. The Rams are on bye this week, but if Stafford still isn't able to play Week 11 versus Seattle, Winn could get another chance to make his NFL debut in that matchup.

Rams' Dresser Winn: Joins active roster
Winn was elevated to the Rams' active roster Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The typical cadence of the NFL would suggest this isn't a good sign for Matthew Stafford's (thumb) status come Sunday, but it doesn't guarantee he'll be unavailable either. Expect Winn to operate in a backup capacity either way for the veteran or Brett Rypien.

Dresser Winn: Joins Rams' practice squad
The Rams signed Winn to their practice squad Wednesday.
Winn was cut by the Rams prior to Week 1, but now that it seems rookie fourth-rounder Stetson Bennett (illness) is unlikely to be available for the remainder of the season, Winn is back in the fold. If Matthew Stafford (thumb) is forced to miss time, Winn could be elevated as soon as Sunday at Green Bay.
