  • Dolphins' Aaron Shampklin: Makes deal with Miami

The Dolphins signed Shampklin on Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Shampklin made three regular-season appearances with Pittsburgh in 2024, recording six carries for 17 yards over 27 offensive snaps. After getting waived by the Steelers back in May, Shampklin worked out with a few different teams before finally finding a fit with Miami. The placement of Alexander Mattison (neck) on injured reserve Monday left the Dolphins without any proven options at tailback behind De'Von Achane, leading to Shampklin's signing.

  • Aaron Shampklin: Out in Pittsburgh

Shampklin was waived by the Steelers on Monday.

Shampklin spent the majority of his 2024 campaign on the Steelers' practice squad and inked a reserve/future deal with the team in mid-January. However, it now appears Pittsburgh has decided to part ways with the 25-year-old running back. The Harvard product appeared in three regular-season games for the Steelers in 2024, logging six carries for 17 yards in addition to 101 kick-return yards. Now a free agent, Shampklin will look to find work with a team in need of running-back depth.

  • Steelers' Aaron Shampklin: Inks deal with Pittsburgh

The Steelers signed Shampklin to a reserve/future contract Tuesday.

Shampklin spent the 2024 season in Pittsburgh, mostly on the practice squad, but he did get promoted to the active roster several times and appeared in three regular-season contests. Shampklin rushed six times for 17 yards, logging the first carries of his career. He'll try to win a job this upcoming offseason.

  • Aaron Shampklin: Back with Steelers' practice squad

The Steelers signed Shampklin to their practice squad Wednesday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.

The Harvard product was dropped from Pittsburgh's active roster Monday to make room for running back Jonathan Ward. However, the Steelers have decided to bring Shampklin back to the team's practice squad now that he's cleared waivers. Shampklin has appeared in three games for the Steelers this season, logging 17 rushing yards on six carries.

  • Aaron Shampklin: Dropped by Pittsburgh

The Steelers waived Shampklin on Monday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Shampklin had appeared in three games for the Steelers this season before being waived Monday, recording 17 rushing yards on six carries. In a corresponding move, Pittsburgh signed Jonathan Ward off its practice squad, and he's expected to serve as the team's No. 3 running back behind Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren in Monday night's matchup against the Giants.

  • Steelers' Aaron Shampklin: Inactive for SNF

Shampklin (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday Night Football against the Jets.

The running back played on just four offensive snaps in the Steelers' Week 6 win over the Raiders. Shampklin also has just six carries for 17 yards and no scores on the year. Pittsburgh's top two running backs, Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren, are healthy, and Jonathan Ward has been elevated from the practice squad.

  • Steelers' Aaron Shampklin: Non-factor in win

Shampklin carried once for minus-2 yards in Sunday's 32-13 win over the Raiders.

With teammate Jaylen Warren (knee) returning from a two-game absence, Shampklin played just four of the Steelers' 63 offensive snaps Sunday as the team's No. 3 back. In three games, the 24-year-old Harvard product has carried six times for 17 yards. He'll remain off the fantasy radar and could even find himself inactive for the Steelers' Week 7 game against the Jets if Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) is able to put an end to his two-game absence.
