Giants' Eric Smith: Signs with Giants
Smith signed a contract with the Giants on Monday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Smith's signing coincides with the release of Matt Gono, who is dealing with a potentially career-ending neck injury. Smith played for the Giants in 2019 and has since spent time in the Cowboys and Cardinals organizations. He'll provided much-needed depth for a New York offensive line that has already been decimated by injuries.

Cowboys' Eric Smith: Gets call Sunday
The Cowboys elevated Smith to the 53-man roster from the practice squad Sunday, Rob Phillips of the team's official site reports.
Sunday marked the second straight week Smith has been called up from the practice squad, as starting left tackle Tyron Smith (neck) is officially listed as questionable to play Sunday. Smith will add some depth on the offensive line should he suit up in Week 3 against Seattle.

The Jets signed Smith off New England's practice squad Tuesday, Eric Allen of the team's official site reports.
Smith has spent the season on New England's practice squad but now finds a home in New York. The second-year pro will serve a depth role on the Jets' offensive line and will likely see most of his snaps on special teams.

The Dolphins activated Smith (knee) from injured reserve Wednesday.
The offensive lineman hit IR in early October with the knee injury, but after returning to practice three weeks ago, the Dolphins determined that he would be available for the final two games. Look for Smith to serve in a reserve role at tackle.

Smith originally landed on IR in early October with the knee issue, but his return to practice Wednesday initiates a 21-day window in which the Dolphins will either have to add him to the 53-man roster or shut him down for the season.
