Wilson tallied nine tackles (four solo) during the Vikings' 21-17 win over the Browns on Sunday.
Wilson led the Vikings in tackling Sunday and was one of three Minnesota players to play all 70 defensive snaps. Wilson has played every single defensive snap in three of the last four games, and the veteran linebacker has accumulated 35 tackles (18 solo) and two forced fumbles through the first five games of the regular season.

Wilson is expected to step into a starting role at inside linebacker Sunday versus the Falcons, with Blake Cashman (hamstring) in line to miss time, Kevin Seifert of ESPN reports.
Wilson was productive off the bench Week 1 against the Bears, racking up five total tackles, a tackle for a loss and a QB hurry while playing 25 of 67 defensive snaps after Cashman's early exit. Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said Wednesday that Cashman is expected to miss time, positioning Wilson to start in Sunday Night Football versus Atlanta in Week 2, and potentially longer.

The Vikings signed Wilson to a contract Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Wilson started 12 of his 17 regular-season appearances with Green Bay in 2024, recording 72 tackles (38 solo), including 2.0 sacks, two pass breakups, including one interception, and one forced fumble. The veteran linebacker now stands to play a key rotational role in Minnesota's interior-linebacker corps. He began his career with the Vikings, playing with the team from 2017-20.

Packers' Eric Wilson: Records 72 tackles for Green Bay
Wilson finished the 2024 season with 72 tackles (38 solo), including 2.0 sacks, two pass breakups, including one interception, and one forced fumble across 17 regular-season contests.
After recording zero starts in the two previous seasons with Green Bay, Wilson made 12 starts during the 2024 campaign, as his 558 defensive snaps were the most he's played since 2020 with the Vikings. Wilson, however, played just three defensive snaps in the wild-card playoff loss to the Eagles, as he was behind all three of Quay Walker, Edgerrin Cooper and Isaiah McDuffie on the depth chart at linebacker. Wilson is now scheduled to hit free agency in March and turns 31 years old in September.

The 30-year-old took full advantage of his increased snaps with Green Bay's first-team defense after Quay Walker left with a concussion in the first quarter of Sunday's win. Wilson has now tallied 20 total tackles, including 2.0 sacks, forced one fumble and nabbed one interception across 126 defensive snaps this season. Don't be surprised if the Cincinnati product begins to see increased work with the Packers' first-team defense even when Walker returns from injury, as Wilson seems to positively impact the game whenever he's on the field.

Packers' Eric Wilson: Staying in Green Bay
The Packers re-signed Wilson on Friday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
The veteran linebacker spent each of the last two seasons with the Packers, and he'll remain in Green Bay for the immediate future after re-signing with the team Friday. Wilson has seen limited work on defense during his time in Green Bay, but he's been an integral part of the Packers' special-teams unit. Over the last two years, Wilson has logged more special-teams snaps (308) and tackles (25) than any other Packer. Expect the 30-year-old to continue serving as an essential part of the team's special-teams unit in 2024.

Wilson finished Sunday's 33-10 win over the Vikings with six tackles (three solo).
Wilson stepped into the starting inside linebacker role alongside Quay Walker after Isaiah McDuffie was forced out of Sunday's game due to a concussion. McDuffie drew the start in Week 17 after De'Vondre Campbell was ruled out ahead of the game with a neck injury. If neither McDuffie or Campbell are able to progress through practice leading up to Week 18 against the Bears, Wilson could be in line to draw the start at inside linebacker alongside Walker.
