Eagles' Johnny Mundt: Packs bags for Philly
Mundt agreed to terms Tuesday on a one-year contract with the Eagles, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Mundt quickly found a new home after being released by the Jaguars on Monday. The 31-year-old tight end played 385 offensive snaps last season but mostly stuck to a run-blocking role, catching just nine of 19 targets for 111 yards and no touchdowns. At the time of this report, Dallas Goedert still hasn't re-signed with the team, but the Eagles did sign Grant Calcaterra to a one-year deal, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Mundt should be a key blocking piece to the Eagles' run-heavy attack, which frequently utilizes multiple tight ends, in 2026 regardless of Goedert's status with the team.

Johnny Mundt: Let go by Jacksonville
The Jaguars released Mundt on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Mundt signed a two-year deal with the Jaguars in March of 2025 after spending the three prior years with the Vikings, but his time in Jacksonville will end after just one season. He caught nine passes (on 19 targets) for 111 yards across 16 regular-season games in 2025, when he served mostly as a run blocker and as a backup to Brenton Strange. Now that he's a free agent, Mundt should garner interest from teams looking to add a depth tight end who can serve as an extra blocker.

Jaguars' Johnny Mundt: Secures one pass Week 18
Mundt caught his only target for 16 yards during Sunday's 41-7 win against the Titans.
The 31-year-old's 16-yard reception during the second quarter was his first catch since Week 12 in Arizona. Mundt played in 16 games this season while serving as a secondary tight end for the Jaguars, and he finished the regular season with nine catches for 111 yards. He's under contract with Jacksonville for 2026, but he carries a $3.25 million cap hit and could be released with just a $500,000 dead cap penalty.

Jaguars' Johnny Mundt: Healthy scratch Week 14
Mundt (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Indianapolis.
Mundt is healthy, but he's going to miss his first game of the season. The veteran tight end has produced eight catches on 17 targets for 95 yards through 12 games on the campaign. Mundt appears to be fourth in the Jaguars' tight-end pecking order behind Brenton Strange, Quintin Morris and Hunter Long.

Jaguars' Johnny Mundt: Notches two receptions
Mundt caught two of three targets for 25 yards during Sunday's 35-6 win against the Chargers.
The 30-year-old played 41 of 71 offensive snaps in the absences of Hunter Long (hip) and Brenton Strange (hip), while Quintin Morris led the way for Jacksonville's tight ends with 50 snaps. Mundt now has seven catches for 83 yards through 10 games this season and is likely to continue being sporadically involved in the Jaguars' aerial attack.

Jaguars' Johnny Mundt: Catches one pass in win
Mundt caught one pass for seven yards in the Jaguars' win over the Chiefs on Monday night.
With Brenton Strange (hip) missing the second half of the game, Mundt logged 34.5 percent of the Jaguars' offensive snaps in Week 5, but he was targeted just the one time. Even if Strange misses time, Mundt won't be a recommended fantasy target.

Jaguars' Johnny Mundt: Won't play Saturday
Mundt (upper body) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
Mundt has been limited in practice due to an upper-body injury, and he'll be held out of Saturday's preseason opener to avoid aggravating the injury. He'll have two more chances to make an appearance during the preseason, with the next game taking place Sunday, Aug. 17 against the Saints. Quintin Morris, Patrick Herbert and Shawn Bowman are candidates to see an uptick in snaps at tight end due to Mundt's absence.

Jaguars' Johnny Mundt: Returns to practice
Mundt (upper body) was a limited participant at the Jaguars' practice Sunday, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
Mundt had been sidelined with an undisclosed upper-body injury for a series of practices. The tight end's return to practice opens the door for him to potentially play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Steelers.

Jaguars' Johnny Mundt: Not practicing due to injury
Mundt has missed the last several training camp practices due to an upper-body injury, Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville reports.
Mundt joined the Jaguars on a two-year contract in March after spending the last three seasons with the Vikings. He's competing against Hunter Long for backup tight end duties behind Brenton Strange, so his injury comes at a bad time. Mundt will look to get himself healthy enough to suit up for the Jaguars' preseason opener against the Steelers on Aug. 9.
