Jaguars' Johnny Mundt: Catches one pass in win
Mundt caught one pass for seven yards in the Jaguars' win over the Chiefs on Monday night.
With Brenton Strange (hip) missing the second half of the game, Mundt logged 34.5 percent of the Jaguars' offensive snaps in Week 5, but he was targeted just the one time. Even if Strange misses time, Mundt won't be a recommended fantasy target.

Jaguars' Johnny Mundt: Past injury
Mundt (upper body) played in Sunday's preseason game against the Saints.
The veteran tight end missed the Jaguars' first exhibition but was able to play 16 offensive snaps versus New Orleans. He wasn't targeted in the contest and is expected to fill a blocking role behind Brenton Strange in 2025.

Jaguars' Johnny Mundt: Won't play Saturday
Mundt (upper body) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
Mundt has been limited in practice due to an upper-body injury, and he'll be held out of Saturday's preseason opener to avoid aggravating the injury. He'll have two more chances to make an appearance during the preseason, with the next game taking place Sunday, Aug. 17 against the Saints. Quintin Morris, Patrick Herbert and Shawn Bowman are candidates to see an uptick in snaps at tight end due to Mundt's absence.

Jaguars' Johnny Mundt: Returns to practice
Mundt (upper body) was a limited participant at the Jaguars' practice Sunday, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
Mundt had been sidelined with an undisclosed upper-body injury for a series of practices. The tight end's return to practice opens the door for him to potentially play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Steelers.

Jaguars' Johnny Mundt: Not practicing due to injury
Mundt has missed the last several training camp practices due to an upper-body injury, Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville reports.
Mundt joined the Jaguars on a two-year contract in March after spending the last three seasons with the Vikings. He's competing against Hunter Long for backup tight end duties behind Brenton Strange, so his injury comes at a bad time. Mundt will look to get himself healthy enough to suit up for the Jaguars' preseason opener against the Steelers on Aug. 9.

Jaguars' Johnny Mundt: Landing with new squad
Mundt is slated to sign a two-year, $5.5 million contract with the Jaguars, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Mundt spent the last three seasons in Minnesota, most recently tying a career best with 19 receptions, which came on 27 targets, 142 yards and two touchdowns. He'll have an opportunity to earn a larger role with the Jaguars, who cut No. 1 tight end Evan Engram (shoulder) on Thursday.

Vikings' Johnny Mundt: Posts 142 yards in 2024
Mundt finished the 2024 regular season with 19 catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 27 targets across 17 regular-season games.
Mundt enjoyed a larger role prior to T.J. Hockenson's return from a knee injury in Week 9, with 93 of Mundt's 142 yards coming while Hockenson was sidelined. The 30-year-old Mundt added two catches for 28 yards on three targets in the wild-card round, but the Vikings were eliminated from playoff contention with a 27-9 loss to the Rams. Mundt will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Vikings' Johnny Mundt: Scores TD in win
Mundt had two receptions for 22 yards, including a four-yard touchdown, on two targets in Sunday's win over Arizona.
Mundt got slightly increased playing time with Josh Oliver out with an ankle injury. He played on 22 of the offense's 53 snaps while starter T.J. Hockenson played on 34 snaps. While Hockenson is clearly the top tight end, Mundt has two targets inside the 10-yard line while Hockenson has none since he returned from a knee injury. That trend could be a fluke, but Mundt at least offers some touchdown hope despite minimal usage (five targets in five games since Hockensen returned).

Vikings' Johnny Mundt: Minimal role on offense
Mundt did not have a target or reception in Sunday's win at Jacksonville.
Mundt played just 18 snaps on offense and went out on three routes, as he's moved to a small role with the return of T.J. Hockenson from a knee injury.

Vikings' Johnny Mundt: No catches in Week 9
Mundt failed to catch his only target in Sunday's 21-13 win over the Colts.
Mundt slid to the No. 3 spot at tight end with T.J. Hockenson returning to the field in Week 9 after missing the first seven games of the season while recovering from the ACL injury he suffered in 2023. Mundt was limited to a season-low 19 offensive snaps and he'll continue to operate behind Hockenson and Josh Oliver moving forward.

Mundt had four receptions for eight yards on five targets in Sunday's loss to Detroit.
Mundt got heavy usage by playing on 40 of the offense's 60 snaps and went out on 27 routes, according to Pro Football Focus. However, Mundt could see a reduced role as early as Thursday if T.J. Hockenson returns from a knee injury against the Rams.

Vikings' Johnny Mundt: Two receptions in win
Mundt had two receptions for 31 yards on two targets in Sunday's win over the Jets in London.
Mundt was in the starting lineup in a two-tight end set and played in 38 of the offense's 73 snaps as the primary receiving tight end (Josh Oliver is almost exclusively a blocker). Mundt could see a reduced role as early as Week 7, considering T.J. Hockenson could return from a knee injury after Minnesota's upcoming bye week.

Vikings' Johnny Mundt: Two receptions in win
Mundt had two receptions for 15 yards on two targets in Sunday's win over Green Bay.
Mundt's window for viable fantasy value may be closing with the return of Jordan Addison from an ankle injury and with T.J. Hockenson (knee) potentially returning to practice this week or next from the PUP list.

Vikings' Johnny Mundt: Scores first TD of season
Mundt caught one of three targets for a two-yard touchdown in Sunday's 34-7 win over the Texans.
The tight end capped a four-touchdown day for quarterback Sam Darnold by hauling in his first TD of the season in the fourth quarter. Mundt has seen exactly three targets in all three games to begin the season, but that modest volume has resulted in only five catches for 29 yards. T.J. Hockenson (knee) likely won't be ready to play until after Minnesota's Week 6 bye, but a breakout for Mundt doesn't appear likely in Week 4 against the Packers.
