  • Bills' Gabe Davis: One catch in Week 12 loss

Davis caught one of two targets for 22 yards in Thursday's 23-19 loss to the Texans.

Davis' 55 percent snap share was second among Buffalo's wide receivers behind Khalil Shakir's 67 percent, while Keon Coleman (coach's decision) was scratched for a second consecutive game. Davis is slated to revert back to the Bills' practice squad, but given his prominent role Thursday, it wouldn't be surprising to see him get another chance to play in Week 13 at Pittsburgh. He can be elevated from the practice squad a third time, having already been elevated twice, but the Bills would have to add Davis to the active roster after that for him to keep playing.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Elevated for second straight week

The Bills elevated Davis from the practice squad ahead of Thursday's game against the Texans.

Davis is expected to be active for the second game in a row after kicking off his second stint with the Bills in this past Sunday's 44-32 win over the Buccaneers. The 26-year-old wideout started and played 23 of 56 snaps in the victory, finishing with three catches for 40 yards on four targets. With Curtis Samuel (elbow/neck) ruled out for Thursday and with Mecole Hardman (calf) landing on injured reserve, Davis could see his role grow, though quarterback Josh Allen's tendency to spread the ball around among his pass catchers renders Davis a volatile option in Week 12 fantasy lineups.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Reverts to practice squad

Davis reverted to the Bills' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Davis was listed as a starter for the Bills' 44-32 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday, when he registered three catches (on four targets) for 40 yards. He played 23 of 56 snaps on offense (41 percent) which was fifth most among Bills wide receivers, largely due to Keon Coleman and Elijah Moore both being healthy scratches for Week 11. Even if Coleman and Moore were to be active for Thursday's game against the Texans, Davis could still be elevated to the active roster due to injuries to fellow wideouts Joshua Palmer (knee/ankle), Curtis Samuel (elbow/neck) and Mecole Hardman (calf).

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Three catches in season debut

Davis caught three of four targets for 40 yards in Sunday's 44-32 win over the Buccaneers.

Davis made his season debut with the Bills after being elevated from the practice squad Sunday, finishing tied for second on the team in catches with running back James Cook. The wide receiver was able to operate in a rather significant role due to Keon Coleman (coach's decision) and Dalton Kincaid (hamstring) being unavailable. Davis can be elevated two more times, and he seems likely to be called upon again in Week 12 against the Texans on Thursday Night Football.

  • Bills' Gabe Davis: Elevated from practice squad

The Bills elevated Davis from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.

Davis was taken off the practice squad injured list in late October after recovering from a lingering knee injury, and the 2020 fourth-rounder is poised to suit up for Buffalo for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. Given his connection with Josh Allen during four seasons with the Bills, Davis could be utilized in the offensive gameplan alongside Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer, especially in the absence of tight end Dalton Kincaid (hamstring). During the 2023 regular season with the Bills, Davis caught 45 passes (on 81 targets) for 746 yards and seven touchdowns across 17 games.

  • Gabe Davis: Getting closer to contributing

Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Wednesday that Davis is "getting close" to suiting up for game action but that the team is still not putting a timeline on his return, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.

Davis inked with Buffalo's practice squad early September but spent most of the season to date sidelined with a knee injury. However, he came off the practice-squad injured list in late October and is now ramping up his activity level. While the veteran wideout will likely remain sidelined Sunday versus Miami, expect Davis to contribute on offense for Buffalo at some stage this season.

  • Gabe Davis: Will not play Week 9

Coach Sean McDermott said Friday that Davis will not play in Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.

Davis spent the first half of the season on the practice-squad injured list but returned to practice this week. However, the Bills want to give him more time to ramp up off the injury. It's unclear if Buffalo has plans to elevate Davis at any point this season.

  • Gabe Davis: Past knee injury

Davis (knee) moved to active practice squad status and will practice Wednesday, Chris Brown of the Bills Radio Network reports.

The veteran wideout was placed on the Bills' practice squad injured list in early September, but it now appears he's recovered from the issue. Davis appeared in 10 game for the Jaguars in 2024, catching 20 of 42 targets for 239 yards and two touchdowns. Now fully healthy, he could find his way back onto Buffalo's active roster down the stretch, as he's very familiar with the team's offense.

  • Gabe Davis: On practice squad injured list

Davis (knee) was placed on the Bills' practice squad injured list Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Davis agreed to sign with the team's practice squad Tuesday, but the wideout will reside on the injured list while he continues to bounce back from a torn meniscus he sustained last season, per Joe Buscagliaof The Athletic. Down the road, Davis could find himself back in the Bills' WR mix, and his familiarity with the offense (the 26-year-old played for Buffalo from 2020 through 2023) would no doubt ease his transition to a return to action in such a scenario.
