Gabe Davis: On practice squad injured list
Davis (knee) was placed on the Bills' practice squad injured list Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Davis agreed to sign with the team's practice squad Tuesday, but the wideout will reside on the injured list while he continues to bounce back from a torn meniscus he sustained last season, per Joe Buscagliaof The Athletic. Down the road, Davis could find himself back in the Bills' WR mix, and his familiarity with the offense (the 26-year-old played for Buffalo from 2020 through 2023) would no doubt ease his transition to a return to action in such a scenario.

Gabe Davis: Joins Buffalo practice squad
Davis (knee) agreed to sign with the Bills' practice squad Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The 26-year-old wideout will reunite with the Bills, with whom he began his career in 2020. Davis recorded at least 500 receiving yards and six touchdowns in each of his four seasons in Buffalo, but after receiving a three-year, $39 million deal from the Jaguars in free agency last offseason, he struggled to a 20-239-2 receiving line over 10 games before undergoing season-ending surgery last November to address a torn meniscus. Davis drew interest from a number of teams after being cut by Jacksonville in May but ultimately chose to continue his career in a familiar locale. He's still working his way back into playing shape following knee surgery and won't be a candidate for elevation from the practice squad right away, but once he's deemed fully healthy, he could emerge as a downfield threat in the Buffalo aerial attack.

Gabe Davis: Visiting Buffalo after Pittsburgh
Davis (knee) is scheduled to meet with the Bills after a medical follow-up with the Steelers on Tuesday, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
The Jaguars released Davis in May, a little less than six months after he suffered a season-ending meniscus injury. A return to Buffalo -- where he played from 2020 to 2023 -- might be the most promising option for getting his career back on track, but Davis likely will start off in a backup role wherever he ends up signing.

Gabe Davis: Making second Steelers visit
Davis (knee) is visiting with the Steelers on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Davis is meeting with the receiver-needy Steelers for the second time this offseason. He hasn't seen any action since suffering a season-ending meniscus tear Week 11 of the 2024 campaign as a member of the Jaguars. Davis had at least 549 receiving yards and six touchdowns in each of his four regular seasons with the Bills from 2020-2023.
