Broncos' J.K. Dobbins: Suited up in full pads Tuesday
Dobbins (undisclosed) was in full pads for Tuesday's practice, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.
Dobbins left last Monday's session due to what eventually was termed a soft-tissue injury by coach Sean Payton, but he's stayed active since then and Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com noted that the running back looked sharp Tuesday during drills. Looking ahead, Dobbins is on track to reprise his role at the top of a Denver backfield that also includes 2025 second-rounder RJ Harvey and 2026 fourth-rounder Jonah Coleman. As long as he can stay healthy, which is far from guaranteed in his case, Dobbins should see enough of a workload to merit fantasy lineup attention, but the continued presence of Harvey, who will also see his share of touches, as well as Coleman possibly emerging as a factor, are variables that could hamper Dobbins' weekly ceiling.

Broncos' J.K. Dobbins: Takes part in Monday's session
Dobbins (undisclosed) participated in Monday's practice, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
Dobbins left last Monday's session due to what eventually was termed a soft-tissue injury by coach Sean Payton. The issue didn't stop Dobbins from taking part in individual drills last Tuesday and Wednesday, but the Broncos held him out of Friday's preseason contest in Atlanta. Assuming he continues to make progress, he may be a consideration to play in this Friday's exhibition contest against the Packers.

Broncos' J.K. Dobbins: Not in uniform Friday
Dobbins isn't in line to play in Friday's preseason game in Atlanta, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
Dobbins made an early exit from practice Monday due to a soft-tissue injury, and while he went through individual drills Tuesday and Wednesday, the Broncos will exercise caution with their presumed top running back. His next chance for exhibition action is next Friday versus the Packers.

Broncos' J.K. Dobbins: Practices again Wednesday
Dobbins, who was forced out of Monday's practice with a soft-tissue injury, was present for Wednesday's practice, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
Dobbins went through individual drills during Tuesday's session, and his continued presence on the field a day later is a good sign ahead of Friday's preseason opener against the Falcons. That said, we'd be surprised to see the running back get any reps in that contest given his recent injury, and if he ends up being held out, his next chance to see game action will occur Aug. 21 against Green Bay.

Broncos' J.K. Dobbins: Works in individual drills Tuesday
Dobbins, who left practice early Monday with a soft-tissue injury, went through individual drills during Tuesday's session, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.
Dobbins' quick return to work after leaving Monday's practice signals that his issue was minor, though it remains to be seen if he'll see action in Friday's preseason opener against the Falcons. As the coming campaign approaches, Dobbins is slated to reprise his role at the top of a Denver backfield that also includes 2025 second-rounder RJ Harvey and 2026 fourth-rounder Jonah Coleman. The key for Dobbins' fantasy utility is staying healthy, but Harvey will no doubt see his share of touches, and Coleman is also a candidate to mix in even if Dobbins heads into Week 1 as the team's de facto starter.

Broncos' J.K. Dobbins: Back in pads Tuesday
Dobbins (undisclosed) is dressed for Tuesday's practice after making an early exit Monday, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
Dobbins has a lengthy injury history, but it doesn't sound like this latest incident will be a significant chapter. That said, the Broncos could limit Dobbins at Tuesday's practice, after coach Sean Payton told reporters Monday that the RB had suffered a soft-tissue injury.

Broncos' J.K. Dobbins: Soft-tissue injury; expected to be be fine
Coach Sean Payton noted Monday that Dobbins has a soft tissue injury, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Dobbins left Monday's practice with a trainer, with his exit due to an unspecified soft-tissue injury. Per DiLalla, Payton thinks that the running back will be fine, but it looks like Dobbins' practice participation could be impacted ahead of Friday's preseason opener against the Falcons. If that's the case, added practice reps will be available for RJ Harvey, Jonah Coleman and Jaleel McLaughlin.

Broncos' J.K. Dobbins: Exits Monday's practice with trainers
Dobbins exited Monday's practice alongside the training staff with an undisclosed injury, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
The good news is Dobbins jogged into the locker room, but other than that there isn't any news on what the running back is dealing with health-wise. RJ Harvey and rookie Jonah Coleman figure to handle the bulk of the first-team reps while Dobbins is tending to his issue.

Broncos' J.K. Dobbins: Key part of crowded backfield
Dobbins is jostling for position in a Broncos backfield that also includes RJ Harvey and Jonah Coleman, Luca Evans of the Denver Post reports.
Dobbins led the Broncos with 772 rushing yards across 10 regular-season games during the 2025 campaign, and he's likely to maintain a prominent role in the team's 2026 backfield mix, even with Denver having spent a second-round pick in 2025 on Harvey and a fourth-rounder this year on Coleman. Harvey is likely to get most of the pass-catching opportunities but averaged just 3.7 yards per carry in the 2025 regular season compared to Dobbins' 5.0, while the 5-foot-8, 220-pound Coleman may be the bigger threat to Dobbins' opportunities on early downs. The Broncos may opt to keep four running backs on the 53-man roster, with Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie battling for the final spot.
