Garvin was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday.

Garvin's activation comes as the Packers are enjoying a bye week coming off their victory over the Rams. The second-year pro should be ready to return in Week 14 against Chicago. Serving in a rotational role in the Packers' linebacker unit, Garvin has 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks on the season.

  • Packers' Jonathan Garvin: Tests positive for COVID-19

Garvin has tested positive for COVID-19, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.

Garvin landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday and has apparently tested positive for the virus. It's not yet clear whether the linebacker is vaccinated, but he appears unlikely to suit up for Sunday's game against the Rams. If he's ultimately inactive, Tipa Galeai could see an increased snap count since the Packers' outside linebackers are banged up ahead of Week 12.

With both Garvin and Gary's status for Week 12 in question, the Packers' linebacker unit is now in a state of flux.

Garvin notched two tackles (one solo) and a half sack in Sunday's 30-28 victory over the 49ers.

Garvin finished his 2020 rookie season with a zero in the sack column, but he finally got on the board in Week 3 of his sophomore campaign. He is operating as the Packers' third edge rusher in the absence of Green Bay's top sack artist, Za'Darius Smith (back).

The Packers selected Garvin in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 242nd overall.
