Chargers' Amar Johnson: Heads back to practice squad
Johnson reverted to the Chargers' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Johnson logged four of Los Angeles' 48 offensive snaps Sunday in a loss to Jacksonville. He carried twice for eight yards and didn't catch his only target. Johnson's elevation came as a result of Jaret Patterson having already been elevated from the practice squad the maximum three times this season. The Chargers are on bye in Week 12, and rookie RB Omarion Hampton (ankle) could be back for Week 13 if he's activated off IR. With that being said, Kimani Vidal is currently the only healthy RB on the Chargers' active roster, so Johnson could get his third elevation at some point before the end of the campaign even if Hampton suits up Nov. 30 against the Raiders.

Chargers' Amar Johnson: Elevated for Week 11
The Chargers elevated Johnson from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
It's the second time Johnson has been elevated to the Bolts' active roster this season. He'll be available for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, when he'll join Trayveon Williams as the Chargers' rotational running backs behind Kimani Vidal. Johnson played in Week 9 against the Titans, but he was limited to just three snaps on special teams.

Amar Johnson: Reverts to Bolts' practice squad
Johnson reverted to the Chargers' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
With Hassan Haskins (hamstring) placed on injured reserve Saturday, Johnson and fellow practice squad running back Jaret Patterson were both elevated to the active roster for the Chargers' Week 9 win over the Titans to provide backfield depth behind Kimani Vidal. It was Patterson (nine carries for 44 yards) who ended up serving in a complementary role to Vidal (12 carries for 30 yards), while Johnson saw the field for just three snaps on special teams without showing up on the box score otherwise. With Haskins, Omarion Hampton (ankle) and Najee Harris (Achilles) all on injured reserve, Johnson and Patterson could both be called up from the practice squad and suit up for the Chargers' Week 10 clash against Steelers this Sunday.

Chargers' Amar Johnson: Joins active roster
Johnson was elevated from the Chargers' practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
Johnson has spent the entire regular season with the Chargers' practice squad, and Sunday will mark his first chance to be active on game day. He could have a small offensive role, as Kimani Vidal will be the only healthy running back that is currently signed to the active roster for a Week 9 matchup against the Titans.

Amar Johnson: Gets opportunity with Chargers

Amar Johnson: Cut by Green Bay
Johnson was waived by the Packers on Tuesday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's official website reports.
Johnson signed with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent in April, leading the team with 115 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries over three preseason contests. The running back will now be placed on waivers, and if he goes unclaimed, there's a solid chance he joins the Packers' practice squad ahead of the 2025 season.

Packers' Amar Johnson: Scores in exhibition opener
Johnson had seven carries for 67 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 30-10 preseason loss to the Jets.
The undrafted rookie fared well in his first appearance as a professional and capped his night with a 39-yard touchdown run. He is a long shot to secure a roster spot, but if he can maintain the momentum he could wind up on Green Bay's practice squad.

Packers' Amar Johnson: Activated off NFI list
The Packers activated Johnson (hamstring) off the active/non-football injury list Sunday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
Johnson made his return to practice Sunday after having missed the start of training camp due to a hamstring injury. The rookie undrafted free agent should now have ample opportunity to compete for a spot as one of Green Bay's backup running backs, as the team currently lacks proven talent at the position behind Josh Jacobs.

Packers' Amar Johnson: Begins camp on NFI list
Johnson (undisclosed) was placed on the active/non-football injury list Friday, Zach Jacobson of 247Sports.com reports.
Johnson joined the Packers as an undrafted free agent after a very productive collegiate career with South Dakota State as both a running back and kick returner. However, he was facing an uphill battle to make the roster out of training camp, and starting out on the sideline won't help his cause.
