Bears' Shemar Turner: On track to play Week 1
Turner (ankle) was not listed on the Bears' estimated injury report Thursday.
Turner was sidelined for most of training camp due to an ankle injury that he suffered in late July. His absence from Thursday's estimated report indicates that he's past the issue, and the rookie second-rounder is in line to make his NFL regular-season debut against the Vikings on Monday. Turner is expected to begin the season in a rotational role at defensive tackle behind starters Grady Jarrett and Gervon Dexter.

Bears' Shemar Turner: Lands in Chicago
The Bears selected Turner (leg) in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 62nd overall.
Turner is a good value for the Bears at this stage of the second round. The Texas A&M product is a tad light for a defensive tackle (294 pounds) but was productive nonetheless with 10.0 sacks and 22.5 total tackles for loss in 43 games while playing through a stress fracture in his leg. He adds twitchiness and versatility to Chicago's defensive front.
