Lions' Terrion Arnold: Opens week with DNP
Arnold (concussion) was listed as a DNP on Wednesday's estimated practice report.
Arnold is in the league's concussion protocol, which prevented him from playing in the Lions' Week 11 loss to the Eagles. A return to practice would indicate that he is progressing through protocol, though he would need to be cleared by an independent neurologist in order to play Sunday against the Giants.

Lions' Terrion Arnold: Won't play against Philadelphia
Arnold (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Eagles.
Arnold entered the league's concussion protocol during the Lions' Week 10 win over the Commanders, which caused him to miss all three practices during Week 11 prep. A return to practice would indicate that he's progressing through the league's protocol, though he would have to be cleared by an independent neurologist in order to play against the Giants in Week 12. Rock Ya-Sin will likely start at outside corner Sunday in Arnold's absence, and Nick Whiteside and Avonte Maddox could also work with the Lions' first-team defense if Amik Robertson (hamstring) is also ruled out.

Lions' Terrion Arnold: Remains in concussion protocol
Arnold (concussion) didn't participate in Detroit's practice Wednesday.
Arnold remains in the league's concussion protocol and will need to clear it before he's eligible to return to the field. If the 22-year-old is unable to play in Sunday's matchup versus the Eagles, Rock Ya-Sin could see increased playing time.

Lions' Terrion Arnold: Won't return Sunday
Arnold (concussion) has been ruled out for the remainder of Detroit's game Sunday versus the Commanders.
Arnold won't return after sustaining a concussion in the first half of Sunday's matchup. The 22-year-old will now enter the league's concussion protocol, and Rock Ya-Sin and Nick Whiteside should see increased action in Arnold's absence.

Lions' Terrion Arnold: Full practice Wednesday
Arnold (shoulder) was a full participant at practice Wednesday.
Arnold exited the team's Week 9 loss to the Vikings with an apparent back injury, but he showed up on Wednesday's injury report with a shoulder issue. Nonetheless, the cornerback's full participation at practice to open the week indicates that he'll be ready to go for Sunday's matchup with the Commanders.

Lions' Terrion Arnold: Departs with back issue
Arnold is questionable to return to Sunday's Week 9 tilt against Minnesota due to a back injury, Kimberley A. Martin of ESPN reports.
Arnold notched his first career pickoff late in the second quarter, but he exited during the second half with a back issue. Rock Ya-Sin has entered the game at cornerback in Arnold's stead.

Lions' Terrion Arnold: Estimated as full participant
Detroit listed Arnold (shoulder) as a full participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report.
The Lions didn't hold an official practice Wednesday, but Arnold's estimation as a full participant indicates that he is past a shoulder injury that caused him to miss the two games prior to Detroit's Week 8 bye. Unless he suffers a setback over the next two practices, Arnold is in line to make his return against the Vikings on Sunday. His return would bolster a Lions secondary that is dealing with injuries to Kerby Joseph (knee) and Avonte Maddox (hamstring).

Lions' Terrion Arnold: Set to return to practice
Head coach Dan Campbell said Monday that Arnold (shoulder) will return to padded practice Tuesday, Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News reports.
Arnold missed the Lions' two games prior to the Week 8 bye due to a shoulder injury that he aggravated in Week 5 against the Bengals. His return to practice is a positive sign in his recovery, but Arnold's practice participation over the coming week provide clarity on his chances of playing against the Vikings on Sunday. The Lions' secondary is dealing with multiple injuries, including Rock Ya-Sin (lower body), Avonte Maddox (hamstring) and Kerby Joseph (knee).

Lions' Terrion Arnold: Returns to practice Friday
Arnold (shoulder) was a limited participant in Friday's practice, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
Arnold was expected to miss Monday's game against the Buccaneers due to a shoulder injury he sustained during the Lions' Week 6 loss to the Chiefs. He sat out of Thursday's practice, but his ability to participate in Friday's session indicates that he is progressing in his recovery. As such, the 2024 first-rounder appears to have a chance (albeit a slim one) to play against Tampa Bay.

Lions' Terrion Arnold: Likely to return following bye
Coach Dan Campbell said Arnold (shoulder) will not play next Monday night against Tampa Bay and will be out through the Lions' Week 8 bye, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports.
Arnold aggravated his existing shoulder injury in the Week 5 win over the Bengals and will miss at least two games. After initially receiving discouraging news on his shoulder, Arnold's second opinion revealed a more optimistic prognosis, and he's expected to return to the field sometime in November. With D.J. Reed (hamstring) on injured reserve, Rock Ya-Sin and Amik Robertson handled every-down duties at cornerback against the Chiefs last Sunday night.

Lions' Terrion Arnold: Second opinion reveals good news
Arnold's second opinion on his injured shoulder revealed that the injury is not as severe as the Lions originally thought, and he's not expected to need season-ending surgery, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Schefter adds that Arnold could return at some point in October, but he's still expected to miss some time. It's still welcomed news for the Lions after coach Dan Campbell stated Monday that Arnold would be sidelined for "a long time." Arnold is needed with D.J. Reed (hamstring) on injured reserve and Khalil Dorsey (concussion) expected to have an extended absence.

Lions' Terrion Arnold: Looking at extended absence
Coach Dan Campbell said Monday that Arnold (shoulder) will be sidelined for "a long time," Colton Pouncy of The Athletic reports.
Arnold initially injured the shoulder in the Lions' Week 4 win over the Browns. He played through the issue in Sunday's win over the Bengals but aggravated the shoulder and is now looking at an extended absence. It's unclear if it's a season-ending injury for the second-year cornerback, but the Detroit cornerback depth chart has been rocked by injuries. Arnold joins fellow starter D.J. Reed (hamstring, IR) and key backup Khalil Dorsey (concussion) on the shelf. Campbell said Dorsey is also looking at a multi-week absence. Rock Ya-Sin and Tre Flowers are going to have to assume major roles in the secondary.
