Jets' Braelon Allen: Expected to miss 8-12 weeks
Coach Aaron Glenn revealed Friday that Allen (knee) is expected to miss 8-12 weeks, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Per Cimini, it hasn't yet been determined if Allen -- who was placed on IR on Thursday -- will undergo surgery on his knee or recover via rehab, but either way, the timetable estimate will remain in the 8-12 week range. In Allen's absence, Isaiah Davis, as well as newcomer Khalil Herbert and Kene Nwangwu (hamstring) -- when healthy -- are slated to work behind top back Breece Hall.

Jets' Braelon Allen: Lands on IR
The Jets officially placed Allen (knee) on IR on Thursday.
The expected move freed up a roster spot for the team's addition of fellow running back Khalil Herbert. Allen thus is slated to miss a minimum of four games, though it's possible that his stint on IR could continue beyond that, with Rich Cimini of ESPN.com noting that the RB's injury is still being evaluated, and surgery is considered a possibility. In Allen's absence, Isaiah Davis, Herbert and Kene Nwangwu (hamstring) -- when healthy -- will provide depth behind top back Breece Hall.

Jets' Braelon Allen: Bound for IR
The Jets intend to place Allen (knee) on injured reserve Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Allen is recovering from an MCL sprain sustained in Monday's 27-21 loss to the Dolphins, and while a formal timeline for his return won't be established until a decision is made whether he'll require surgery, the 21-year-old will be sidelined for at least the Jets' next four games. New York could add another running back to its roster in a corresponding move when Allen is officially placed on IR, but as it stands, Isaiah Davis and Kene Nwangwu (hamstring) are the backfield options behind starter Breece Hall.

Jets' Braelon Allen: Has MCL sprain, move to IR likely
Allen sustained an MCL sprain during Monday's 27-21 loss at Miami and likely will be placed on injured reserve, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Prior to injuring his knee on a kick return in the second quarter, Allen was splitting the reps at running back with Breece Hall, with the former turning his four carries into 26 yards. If Allen requires a stint on IR, he'll be required to miss at least four games. In the meantime, Hall likely will take on a workhorse role out of the Jets backfield, while Isaiah Davis would be the top candidate to handle any reps that don't go to Hall.

Jets' Braelon Allen: Heads to locker room
Allen walked to the locker room with an apparent knee injury in Monday's game against the Dolphins, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.
Allen was tackled low on a kickoff return in the second quarter and limped off the field. He was able to go to the locker room under his own power, though his status for at least the rest of the game is in question.

Jets' Braelon Allen: Quickly ruled out
Allen (knee) will not return to Monday's game against the Dolphins, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinelreports.
Allen was injured on a kickoff return late in the second quarter when a defender was pushed down in front of him and fell into his knee. He was able to walk off the field and to the locker room under his own power, but Allen was quickly ruled out. Breece Hall and Isaiah Davis will be counted on to handle the majority of work out of the backfield for the rest of the game.
