Top Andrew Ogletree News

  • Colts' Drew Ogletree: Plays all 17 games in 2024

Ogletree secured nine of 14 targets for 109 yards and one touchdown across 17 regular-season appearances with the Colts in 2024.

Ogletree suited up for all 17 regular-season games for the first time in his career Year 3, playing a consistent depth role for the Colts' offense. At 6-foot-5, 260 pounds, Ogletree is best suited to contribute as a blocker at the tight end position. He's heading into the final year of his rookie deal with Indianapolis.

  • Colts' Drew Ogletree: Two receptions in win

Ogletree had two receptions for 24 yards on two targets in Sunday's win at Tennessee.

He played on 21 of the offense's 70 snaps (Mo Alie-Cox played 34 and Kylen Granson played 17) and had the second most targets (Alie-Cox had four) among tight ends. While Alie-Cox has had a few more targets with Joe Flacco at quarterback, the Colts continue to divide the workload relatively evenly between three our four tight ends, which limits Ogletree's upside.

  • Colts' Drew Ogletree: Just one reception in loss

Ogletree had one reception for five yards on his only target in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville.

Ogletree played on 26 of the offense's 70 snaps and went out on nine routes. The Colts continue to divide targets and snaps between multiple tight ends (Kylen Granson played 18 snaps, Mo Alie-Cox played 29, and Will Mallory played 16). Alie-Cox caught a touchdown in the loss where Ogletree caught a touchdown Week 4. As long as the workload is divided between three or four tight ends, none will have viable fantasy value for most formats.

  • Colts' Drew Ogletree: TD reception in win

Ogletree caught a 15-yard touchdown on his only target in Sunday's win over Pittsburgh.

It was just Ogletree's second reception of the season, as Indy hasn't utilized tight ends in the passing game and splits targets among three tight ends. Ogletree played on just 24 of the offense's 66 snaps and went out on six routes. His minimal usage makes him a poor fantasy option despite the touchdown reception.

  • Colts' Drew Ogletree: One reception in loss

Ogletree had one reception for 12 yards on two targets in Sunday's 16-10 loss at Green Bay.

Indy's tight ends have a combined three receptions in the first two games, with no tight end having more than one reception. Ogletree started in Week 2 but played fewer snaps (14) than Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson, as the Colts have been rotating tight ends in all roles this season. After two weeks, no Indy tight end looks set to produce viable fantasy value.

  • Colts' Drew Ogletree: Quiet day

Ogletree played just 10 snaps on offense and didn't see a target in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Texans.

Ogletree's small role on offense isn't necessarily surprising, considering he's operating as the No. 3 man on the team's tight-end depth chart. He'll likely need an injury to Kylen Granson or Mo Alie-Cox to find himself as a larger part of the Colts' offense. However, he does remain a regular part of the team's special-teams unit.

  • Colts' Drew Ogletree: Makes 53-man roster

Ogletree has made Indianapolis' 53-man roster.

With Jelani Woods (toe) out for the season on IR, Olgetree will be part of a four-man committee at tight end that also includes Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox and Will Mallory. Ogletree is probably the second or third receiving option among the quartet, with Alie-Cox primarily a blocking tight end.

  • Colts' Drew Ogletree: Garners first TE target Saturday

Ogletree failed to bring in his lone target in Saturday's preseason win over the Cardinals.

Ogletree was the first tight end targeted by fill-in starter Sam Ehlinger in Saturday's exhibition. Kylen Granson and Mo Alie-Cox did not suit up for this contest while Jelani Woods (toe) suffered a minor injury against Arizona. Ogletree figures to still be in the mix for an unsettled tight-end depth chart in Indianapolis this season.

  • Colts' Drew Ogletree: Back with team

GM Chris Ballard noted Friday that Ogletree is off the NFL's Commissioner Exempt List, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.

Per the report, Ogletree -- whose charges stemming from his arrest in December were dismissed last month -- is back with the Colts during offseason workouts. Prior to being placed on the Commissioner Exempt List on Dec. 30, Ogletree caught nine of his 21 targets for 147 yards and two TDs in 12 regular-season games with Indianapolis.

  • Colts' Drew Ogletree: On Commissioner Exempt List

Ogletree has been placed on the NFL's Commissioner Exempt List, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.

Ogletree's placement on the list comes after he was arrested Friday. While the tight end is on the list, he is not permitted to practice or attend games.

  • Colts' Drew Ogletree: Arrested Friday

Ogletree was arrested Friday in Hendricks County, Indiana on allegations of domestic violence, Stephen Holder of ESPN reports.

Per the report, Ogletree was charged with a pair of level six felonies (domestic violence committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years old and domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury) stemming from an incident Tuesday. In a statement released Friday, the Colts noted that they are aware of the allegations involving the tight end and "are in the process of gathering more information."

  • Colts' Drew Ogletree: Blanked despite significant role

Ogletree saw one target on 26 offensive snaps in Sunday's 31-28 overtime win at Tennessee but did not catch the pass.

Despite pacing the Colts' tight ends in snaps in Week 13, Ogletree did not register in the box score. Although he has a dismal 50-percent catch rate, he's actually been relatively efficient on the few targets (18) he's drawn through nine games this season. Even so, he's on the heavy end (260 lbs.) even by tight end standards, so it makes some sense that Indianapolis has deployed him mostly as a blocker this year and will likely continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
