  • Bills' Keon Coleman: Benched in disciplinary move

Bills head coach Sean McDermott revealed Monday that Coleman didn't play in the first series of Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Patriots due to a disciplinary matter, Alec White of the team's official site reports.

As a result of missing the first possession, Coleman played just 42 of the Bills' 68 offensive snaps on the night, with his 62 percent share representing his lowest mark since he logged 51 percent of snaps in Week 2, when Buffalo rested several key players late in a 20-point win over the Jets. McDermott didn't go into much detail about Coleman's benching beyond noting that the staff is "looking for more consistency" from the second-year wideout. For his part, Coleman seemed to respond well to the disciplinary decision, as he finished the Week 5 loss with four catches for 23 yards on seven targets, including a two-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Look for Coleman's playing time to tick back up a bit in Week 6 against the Falcons, though quarterback Josh Allen's tendency to spread the ball around to Buffalo's pass catchers renders Coleman a volatile option in weekly fantasy lineups.

  • Bills' Keon Coleman: Tallies key score in loss

Coleman recorded four receptions on seven targets for 23 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Patriots.

Coleman finished second on the team with seven targets, though he struggled to an inefficient performance like many of Buffalo's skill-position players. Both of his notable catches came in the fourth quarter, starting with a two-yard touchdown reception midway through the period. One possession later, he made a leaping, contested grab that went for 13 yards to help set up a game-tying field goal. While Coleman made key contributions for the team, he now has fewer than 30 receiving yards in three of five games for the season.

  • Bills' Keon Coleman: Efficient with four targets

Coleman secured three of four targets for 45 yards in the Bills' 31-19 win over the Saints on Sunday.

Coleman finished tied for second in receptions and targets while also serving as the runner-up in receiving yards for the Bills during a relatively low-volume day for the passing attack. The Saints did give Buffalo a more competitive game than expected, and Coleman recorded his third catch of 20-plus yards this season on his way to his best yardage tally since Week 1. The second-year wideout will take a 17-203-1 line on 22 targets into a Week 5 home matchup against the Patriots next Sunday night.

  • Bills' Keon Coleman: Three catches in Week 3 win

Coleman secured three of four targets for 20 yards in the Bills' 31-21 win over the Dolphins on Thursday night.

The second-year wideout was tied for third in receptions for the Bills on the night, but that led to a very modest yardage total. Coleman got his season off to a memorable start with an 8-112-1 line against the Ravens in Buffalo's wild Week 1 win, but he sports a combined 6-46-0 tally on seven targets over the subsequent pair of contests. The Bills haven't been forced to be anywhere near as aggressive as in the opener against Baltimore, however, so Coleman retains plenty of upside in the right game environment. Nevertheless, a Week 4 home matchup against the Saints on Sunday, Sept. 28 could be another low-volume day for the air attack.
