Jets' Adonai Mitchell: One catch in Jets debut
Mitchell secured one of six targets for 10 yards in the Jets' 27-14 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night.
Mitchell surprisingly led the Jets in targets in his team debut, although he and Justin Fields clearly had trouble connecting. Nevertheless, with Garrett Wilson (IR, knee) now sidelined for at least three more games, Mitchell should have plenty of opportunities to build a rapport with whoever is under center between Fields and Tyrod Taylor for New York over the next several contests.

Jets' Adonai Mitchell: Set to debut with Jets
Mitchell is active for Thursday night's game against the Patriots.
Mitchell, who the Jets acquired Nov. 4 in a trade with the Colts, was inactive Week 10, but now that he's had some time to get up to speed with his new team's offense, the 2024 second-rounder will be among the pass catchers that will be tasked with helping to fill the void created by top WR Garrett Wilson (knee) having been placed on IR on Thursday. In his debut with New York, Mitchell profiles as a speculative lineup option, but down the road he could earn a key role in the Jets offense and in turn merit fantasy consideration.

Jets' Adonai Mitchell: Won't make team debut Sunday
Mitchell (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Browns.
Though he could have a chance to carve out a meaningful role in the second half of the season in a Jets receiving corps lacking in quality options beyond No. 1 wideout Garrett Wilson, Mitchell will get more time to get up to speed with a new playbook after he was acquired from the Colts on Tuesday as part of the deal that sent star cornerback Sauce Gardner to Indianapolis. With the Jets making both Mitchell and Allen Lazard healthy inactives for Week 10, the team will be left with Wilson, Tyler Johnson, Arian Smith, John Metchie and Isaiah Williams as its available receivers.

Jets' Adonai Mitchell: Coach doesn't reveal Week 10 status
Head coach Aaron Glenn was non-committal Friday on whether Mitchell will be available for Sunday's game against the Browns, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Mitchell was acquired in a trade from the Colts on Tuesday, so he's still familiarizing himself with the Jets' playbook. Glenn referred to Mitchell as "a true X" receiver, suggesting that Mitchell's playing time will come on the outside if he suits up for his Jets debut in a receiving corps that's expected to welcome back top option Garrett Wilson (knee) against the Browns.

Jets' Adonai Mitchell: Part of Gardner trade with Jets
The Colts traded Mitchell and two first-round picks to the Jets for CB Sauce Gardner on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Indianapolis invested a second-round pick in Mitchell in the 2024 Draft, but he wasn't able to make much of an impact, as the wide receiver totaled 32 catches on 71 targets for 464 yards and no touchdowns in 25 games through one-and-a-half seasons. In the move to New York, he'll join a receiving corps that lacks depth behind Garrett Wilson (knee), giving Mitchell a second chance to justify the draft capital used on him. If Wilson is still limited coming out of the Jets' Week 9 bye, Mitchell could get an opportunity to contribute right away.

Colts' Adonai Mitchell: Just one reception in loss
Mitchell had one reception for two yards on one target in Sunday's loss at Pittsburgh.
Mitchell played four snaps on offense. He's still behind Ashton Dulin, who played seven snaps on offense. While it's encouraging that Mitchell is getting any targets following his demotion for a much-publicized mental error in Week 4 when he erased a would-be 76-yard receiving touchdown by dropping the ball prior to crossing the goal line, he's not likely to get much more playing time without injuries in the receiving corps.

Colts' Adonai Mitchell: No receptions in Week 8 win
Mitchell failed to haul in his lone target while playing nine of the Colts' 53 snaps on offense in Sunday's 38-14 win over the Titans.
Since making a much-publicized mental error in Week 4 when he erased a would-be 76-yard receiving touchdown by dropping the ball prior to crossing the goal line in the third quarter of a loss to the Rams, Mitchell has seen his playing time get cut significantly. The return of Alec Pierce from a two-game absence was a contributing factor, but Mitchell has also been bypassed for the No. 4 spot on the depth chart at receiver by Ashton Dulin, who has out-snapped Mitchell in three of the past four weeks. With all of Indianapolis' key receivers back to full health, Mitchell doesn't appear likely to get another chance at logging extensive playing time anytime soon.

Colts' Adonai Mitchell: Bypassed on depth chart
Mitchell had one reception for eight yards on his only target in Sunday's 38-24 win over the Chargers.
A healthy inactive for the Colts' Week 6 win over the Cardinals, Mitchell was back in the mix Sunday but handled only a light role on offense. The second-year wideout played just five snaps, and the Colts turned to Anthony Gould as their No. 3 receiver ahead of him while Josh Downs (concussion) and Ashton Dulin (chest) were both out with injuries. Gould took the field for 39 of the offense's 60 snaps.

Colts' Adonai Mitchell: Chance at redemption Week 7
Mitchell, who was inactive for the Colts' Week 6 win over the Cardinals, will play Sunday against the Chargers, while Indianapolis will be without Josh Downs (concussion) and Ashton Dulin (chest), James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Mitchell's Week 4 performance against the Rams encapsulated both his upside and drawbacks, as he recorded 96 receiving yards but made multiple mental mistakes, including losing hold on the football just before crossing the goal line to turn a would-be touchdown into a touchback. He subsequently played just six snaps Week 5 and was inactive Week 6. Injuries have paved the way for the 2024 second-round draft pick to reclaim a role in three-receiver sets alongside Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce, but Mitchell will face a Chargers defense that has allowed only two touchdowns to wide receivers this season.

Colts' Adonai Mitchell: Inactive Sunday
Mitchell is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Amanda Foster of the Colts' official site reports.
With Alec Pierce back from a concussion, Mitchell is the odd man out in the Colts' Week 6 wideout corps. Also in uniform at the position Sunday are Michael Pittman, Josh Downs, Ashton Dulin and Anthony Gould.
