  • Giants' Cam Skattebo: Undergoes successful surgery

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Monday that Skattebo's ankle procedure "all went well" and that the rookie running back is "on the road to recovery," Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Daboll declined to go into any further detail about Skattebo's procedure or disclose an expected timetable for his recovery, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports. The rookie fourth-round pick suffered a dislocated right ankle during New York's loss to the Eagles in Week 8, for which he had to be carted off the field and transported to a local hospital. While it's encouraging that the procedure to repair Skattebo's injured ankle was successful, it remains to be seen whether he could have a chance to retake the field at some point this season. As long as Skattebo is unavailable, Tyrone Tracy will lead the Giants' backfield, while Devin Singletary bumps into the No. 2 role. Tracy rushed 10 times for 39 yards and caught two of three targets for 14 yards (on 33 offensive snaps) versus Philadelphia, while Singletary had two carries for zero yards and secured his only target for a 28-yard gain (on eight offensive snaps).

  • Giants' Cam Skattebo: Set for surgery

Skattebo is slated to undergo surgery Sunday night on the dislocated right ankle that he suffered during the Giants' Week 8 loss at Philadelphia, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Skattebo's lower right leg was placed in an air cast before he was carted off the field in the second quarter following the injury. He was transported to a local hospital and now will embark on the first step post-injury. During Sunday's game, reserve RB Tyrone Tracy turned 12 touches into 53 yards from scrimmage and no TDs, while Devin Singletary notched three touches for 28 total yards and no scores.

  • Giants' Cam Skattebo: Dislocated ankle confirmed

Skattebo suffered a dislocated right ankle during Sunday's contest at Philadelphia and was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated further, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

With a diagnosis now known for the gruesome right ankle injury he sustained in the second quarter that required an air cast to stabilize and a cart to get off the field, Skattebo is out indefinitely and likely for the rest of the campaign. The rookie fourth-round pick will yield New York's backfield to Tyrone Tracy moving forward.

  • Giants' Cam Skattebo: Ruled out with ankle injury

Skattebo was ruled out of Sunday's game in Philadelphia due to a right ankle injury.

Skattebo suffered a gruesome injury to his lower right leg at the end of a Jaxson Dart incompletion that targeted the rookie running back. His right ankle was placed in an air cast before he was carted off the field in the second quarter. While Skattebo will be out for the foreseeable future, Tyrone Tracy will take over the Giants backfield Sunday and beyond.

  • Giants' Cam Skattebo: Carted off with foot injury

Skattebo was carted off the field during Sunday's game at Philadelphia due to a right foot injury, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. He gained 12 yards on three carries and recorded an 18-yard touchdown reception prior to his departure.

Per Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post, Skattebo's right foot was bent the wrong way at the end of a Jaxson Dart incompletion to the running back in the middle of the second quarter. Tyrone Tracy will take over as the Giants' lead back for the rest of the contest.

  • Giants' Cam Skattebo: Scores first receiving TD of career

Skattebo rushed 16 times for 60 yards and caught three of six targets for 34 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 33-32 loss to Denver.

Skattebo followed up the first multi-score game of his career with his first trip to the end zone as a receiver through seven pro appearances. The bruising tailback had actually been fairly active in the pass game prior to Sunday's touchdown catch, averaging 3.3 receptions and 25.8 receiving yards in the previous six games. Skattebo did finish below 4.0 yards per carry for the third time this season, but he is still commanding the lion's share of touches out of the Giants' backfield. Fantasy managers should continue riding Skattebo next Sunday against the Eagles in a rematch from Week 6, when the rookie hit paydirt thrice.
