Tony Jones: Reverts to practice squad
Jones reverted to the Cardinals' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Jones signed with the Cardinals' practice squad Dec. 18 and was elevated for the regular-season finale against the 49ers on Sunday. He ended up playing 15 snaps (five on offense, 10 on special teams), and ripped off a 46-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter to finish with 55 rushing yards and a score on four carries.

Cardinals' Tony Jones: Elevated for Week 18
The Cardinals elevated Jones from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
Jones injured his shoulder during the preseason, which caused him to be let go by the Cardinals in late August with an injury settlement. He signed with Arizona's practice squad Dec. 18, and now that he's on the active roster, the 27-year-old will serve as the Cardinals' No. 3 running back behind Michael Carter and DeeJay Dallas for Sunday's regular-season finale against the 49ers.

Arizona signed Jones to its practice squad Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Arizona cut Jones from its injured reserve list prior to Week 1 of the regular season, but now he's back with the organization ahead of Week 16. With both Trey Benson (ankle) and Emari Demercado (back) dealing with injuries, it makes sense that the Cardinals are exploring depth options at running back.

Tony Jones: Gets look from Chicago
Jones (shoulder) worked out for the Bears on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Jones reached an injury settlement with the Cardinals in August after he injured his shoulder in the team's final preseason game. His workout with Chicago suggests the 26-year-old is healthy and looking to find a new opportunity. With Travis Homer (finger) now on IR, the Bears are on the hunt for running back depth and also brought in Jake Funk and Anthony McFarland for workouts as well.

Tony Jones: Taken off IR with injury settlement
The Cardinals removed Jones (shoulder) from the reserve/injured list Friday with an injury settlement, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Jones suffered the shoulder injury in the Cardinals' preseason finale against the Broncos on Sunday. He was set to miss the entire 2024 season after being placed on IR on Tuesday, but the injury settlement will allow him to sign with a team once fully healthy. Jones played in seven regular-season games in 2023 (four with Arizona, three with New Orleans), and he finished the season with 26 carries for 95 yards and two touchdowns along with seven catches (on 10 targets) for 37 yards.

Jones will not return to Sunday's preseason game against Denver due to a shoulder injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Jones sustained the injury in the second quarter of Sunday's game, and he'll finish the contest with seven carries for 29 yards and two catches for 14 yards. Hassan Hall should see most, if not all, of the carries in the second half, per Urban.

Cardinals' Tony Jones: Lands reserve/future deal with AZ
The Cardinals signed Jones to a reserve/future contract Monday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
Davis is a four-year NFL veteran who has seen action with three different teams, including two stints with New Orleans, over the past two campaigns. He played a prominent role in Weeks 2 and 3 with the Saints this season, tallying 65 yards and two touchdowns on 20 rushes along with 21 yards on four receptions, but he was released two weeks later. Jones subsequently signed with Arizona and spent much of the remainder of the campaign on the practice squad but did see action in three games, carrying five times for 25 yards and adding three catches for 16 yards. He'll have a chance to complete for a spot on the team's roster during training camp this summer.

Jones reverted to the Cardinals' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
With Emari Demercado (toe) still sidelined, Jones was the only Arizona running back to get snaps (16 of 61 on offense) and touches (two) behind James Conner's 42 plays and 16 touches for 63 yards from scrimmage Sunday against the Texans. Both of Jones' touches went for 10-plus yards en route to 21 total yards. Meanwhile, Keaontay Ingram was active but didn't play, and newcomer Michael Carter was a healthy scratch. It remains to be seen who may get looks behind Conner on a weekly basis moving forward, but Demercado, Jones and Carter (once he's acclimated) could be the best bets.

The 25-year-old out of Notre Dame was likely added to Arizona's active roster to ensure depth at running back, with Emari Demercado (toe) missing Sunday's contest. Jones has made six appearances for the Cardinals and Saints in 2023, recording 111 total yards on 31 touches.
