  • Lions' Kayode Awosika: Returning to NFC North champs

Awosika re-signed with the Lions on Friday.

Awosika has been mostly a rotational player during his three seasons in Detroit, starting seven of the 36 regular-season games in which he's appeared. However, he could have the opportunity to compete for a starting role during the Lions' upcoming training camp due to Kevin Zeitler's signing with Tennessee in mid-March.

  • Lions' Kayode Awosika: Not on injury report

Awosika (lower body) wasn't listed on Detroit's injury report Wednesday.

Awosika left the team's Week 8 win versus the Raiders with a lower body injury but is now healthy again. The 25-year-old has started two of the past three games with Jonah Jackson (ankle) and Frank Ragnow (toe) both missing time but will likely return to the bench with both starters expected to return this week.

  • Lions' Kayode Awosika: Exits with cramps

Awosika (lower body) is questionable to return to Monday's contest against the Raiders.

Awosika left the game in the second half due to lower body cramping and his return is now uncertain. The 25-year-old was starting at left guard, and in his absence, Michael Niese could see an increase in workload.

  • Lions' Kayode Awosika: Participating in camp

Awosika (ankle) is taking part in team drills during training camp, Jeff Risdon of LionsWire reports.

Awosika closed out last season on the sidelines as he tended to an ankle injury. However, he's been active in camp and was outstanding for all but one rep Wednesday, Risdon notes. Awosika will continue working to earn a reserve role on the Lions' 53-man roster for the upcoming season.
