Bears' Amen Ogbongbemiga: Placed on IR
Ogbongbemiga (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, but with a designation to return.
The linebacker can come back after missing the minimum of four regular-season games. Ogbongbemiga suffered a shoulder injury during the Bears' preseason opener but returned in time for the team's second preseason game Aug. 17 against the Bills, so it's unclear if this issue is related to that one. The former Charger saw action on 362 special-teams snaps and 15 defensive snaps for Chicago last year, making 13 tackles (seven solo).

Bears' Amen Ogbongbemiga: Recovered from shoulder injury
Ogbongbemiga (shoulder) logged five tackles (four solo) and a forced fumble during Sunday's 38-0 preseason win over the Bills.
Ogbongbemiga suffered a shoulder during the Bears' preseason opener against the Dolphins, but he progressed enough in his recovery to be cleared to play Sunday. He led the Bears in tackles and forced a fumble late in the third quarter, which led to Chicago scoring 14 plays later on an Ian Wheeler 10-yard rushing touchdown. Ogbongbemiga primarily served on special teams for the Bears in 2024 and logged 13 tackles (seven solo), including 1.0 sacks, across 17 regular-season games, and that role is his clearest path to making the 53-man roster at the end of training camp.

Bears' Amen Ogbongbemiga: Leaves game with shoulder injury
Ogbongbemiga is questionable to return to Sunday's preseason game against Miami due to a shoulder injury, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Even if the injury is determined to be minor, the Bears will likely play it safe with Ogbongbemiga and keep him sidelined for the rest of Sunday's exhibition game. He is battling for a spot on the 53-man roster as a depth linebacker and special teams contributor.

Bears' Amen Ogbongbemiga: Signs new contract
Ogbongbemiga agreed to a two-year, $5 million deal with the Bears on Thursday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
An undrafted free agent back in 2021, the linebacker latched onto the NFL as a special teamer recording 36 total tackles and two fumble recoveries in three seasons with Los Angeles. The 26-year-old joined the Bears this past season and reprised a similar role playing a career-high 352 special teams snaps in 2024.
