The move corresponds with Chicago waiving Ameer Speed (undisclosed) with an injury designation. Brown spent most of the 2024 season on the Seahawks' practice squad and hasn't seen regular-season action since 2022 with the Raiders, when he played 61 snaps on special teams across six games. Brown (coach's decision) was ruled inactive ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers.
It's unclear why Brown was listed inactive by Las Vegas' coaching staff as he was not dealing with any known injuries during practice this week. Nevertheless, the rookie seventh-round pick was not expected to play a significant role against the Chargers given the Raiders' loaded group of running backs, including Josh Jacobs, Zamir White, Brandon Bolden and Ameer Abdullah.
