  • 49ers' Jordan Elliott: Returns from back issue

Elliott (back) participated during Tuesday's training camp practice, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Elliott had been dealing with a back injury he presumably suffered during a practice earlier in training camp, but he's now back on the field ahead of San Francisco's last preseason game Saturday versus the Chargers. Unless he suffers a setback, he figures to start at one of the 49ers' defensive tackle spots come Week 1 at Seattle.

  • 49ers' Jordan Elliott: Nursing back injury

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said Sunday that Elliott (back) is dealing with injury, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.

Elliott will work to get healthy in time to participate in joint practices with the Raiders this week, and ahead of the 49ers' preseason clash against Las Vegas on Saturday, Aug. 16. He projects to kick off the regular season as a regular contributor at defensive tackle, health permitting.

  • 49ers' Jordan Elliott: Sees role increase over 2024 season

Elliott finished the 2024 regular season with 19 tackles (12 solo) through 15 games.

Elliott signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the 49ers in March of 2024 after spending the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Browns, who selected him in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Elliott failed to crack 30 defensive snaps in the first five games of the regular season, but he managed to reach that mark in nine of his next 10 outings due to injuries to Kevin Givens (pectoral) and Javon Hargrave (triceps). Elliott would see plenty of snaps at defensive tackle alongside Hargrave and Maliek Collins in 2025 if Givens opts to sign with another team during the offseason.

  • 49ers' Jordan Elliott: Returning in Week 14

Elliott (concussion) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Bears, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Elliott missed the 49ers' Week 13 loss to the Bills after sustaining a concussion the week prior, but he practiced in full Wednesday and has cleared the NFL's five-step protocol in time to suit up Sunday. Expect the Missouri product to serve as one of San Francisco's top interior defensive linemen in Week 14.

  • 49ers' Jordan Elliott: Will miss Week 13

Elliott (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's battle against Buffalo, Lindsey Pallares of the 49ers' official site reports.

Elliott suffered the concussion Sunday against Green Bay and didn't practice at all this week. He'll need to clear the NFL's five-step protocol for head injuries before he's able to return to action. Kalia Davis could be asked to step up in Elliott's absence Sunday.

  • 49ers' Jordan Elliott: Ruled out Sunday

Elliot (concussion) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game versus Green Bay, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Elliott will not return to the game after suffering a concussion during the first half. In his absence, Kalia Davis and Evan Anderson should see increased playing time.

  • 49ers' Jordan Elliott: May have head injury

Elliott is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Packers, Lindsey Pallares of the 49ers' official site reports.

While Elliott gets examined, Kalia Davis and Evan Anderson will see an uptick in snaps at defensive tackle alongside starter Maliek Collins.

  • 49ers' Jordan Elliott: All good for Sunday

Elliott (knee) is not on the injury report for Sunday's game against Kansas City, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Elliott should make his return to the field after sitting out the 49ers' Week 6 win over the Seahawks. The 6-foot defensive tackle's return is particularly timely, considering the tall task that slowing down Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the Chiefs' offense represents.
