Frank Darby: Tries out with Niners
San Francisco worked out Darby (undisclosed) on Tuesday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The 49ers waived Darby with an injury settlement prior to the start of the 2024 season nearly a year ago, but they're now giving him another look as the 2025 campaign approaches. San Francisco is dealing with more than a few injuries in its wide receiver room currently, so it would make some sense to try to add depth at that position.

Frank Darby: Getting waived
San Francisco waived Darby (undisclosed) from its injured reserve list with an injury settlement Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The injury settlement means he won't be forced to sit out of the entire 2024 season by rule. If he were to come back during the current campaign though, it might have to be with a different team.

49ers' Frank Darby: Moves to IR
Darby (undisclosed) reverted to the 49ers' reserve/injured list Tuesday after clearing waivers, per the NFL transaction log.
Darby will now be forced to sit out for the 2024 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with San Francisco. The 2021 sixth-round wide receiver has played in 16 regular-season games across his three-year career as a member of the Falcons, operating mostly on special teams.

Frank Darby: Waived/injured by 49ers
Darby (undisclosed) was waived/injured by the 49ers on Monday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The move makes room on the training camp roster for wide receiver Robbie Chosen. Darby signed with the 49ers in July after spending most of the 2023 season on the Falcons' practice squad. It's unclear what is ailing Darby, but if the 2021 sixth-round pick were to clear waivers, he would revert to San Francisco's injured reserve and be forced to miss the entire 2024 season unless an injury settlement is reached.

49ers' Frank Darby: Joins San Fran
Darby signed a contract with the 49ers on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
With Brandon Aiyuk (contract) and Ricky Pearsall (hamstring) both not practicing early on in training camp, Darby will presumably be a high-upside camp body for a team suddenly devoid of pass catchers. A 2021 sixth-round pick by the Falcons, Darby played in just one game with Atlanta last year, primarily floating around on the practice squad.

Frank Darby: Back to practice squad
Darby reverted to the Falcons' practice squad Monday.
Darby was added to the active roster ahead of Sunday's 25-23 loss to the Cardinals, failing to record a stat while playing 12 snaps on special teams. With Mack Hollins (ankle) uncertain heading into the team's bye week, it's possible Darby could be appear another game in Week 12.

Falcons' Frank Darby: Brought up from practice squad
Darby was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster by the Falcons on Saturday, Scott Bair of the team's official site reports.
The depth wide receiver seems to be replacing Mack Hollins, who is out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals with an ankle injury, per Bair. Darby, a 2021 sixth-round pick, has yet to appear in a game this season. Darby recorded two catches for 29 yards and no touchdowns over his first two NFL seasons.

Frank Darby: Joins Falcons' practice squad
Atlanta signed Darby to its practice squad Tuesday, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports.
The Falcons parted ways with Darby prior to Week 1, but he's been reunited with the team ahead of Week 5. Atlanta is paper-thin at wide receiver behind Drake London, so it wouldn't be a big surprise to see Darby elevated sometime soon.

Frank Darby: Reaches injury settlement
Darby (undisclosed) has been waived by the Falcons from injured reserve with an injury settlement, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.
Darby's injury settlement could be a sign that he is near recovered from a soft-tissue injury sustained in Atlanta's preseason opener. Now, instead of being sidelined for the entire season, he will be free to look for a new opportunity once he's healthy.

Falcons' Frank Darby: Shifts to IR
Darby (undisclosed) has reverted to the Falcons' injured reserve, per the NFL's transaction log.
Via Terrin Waack of the team's official website, Darby was only expected to be sidelined for a week or so after suffering a soft-tissue injury in Friday's 19-3 preseason opening win over the Dolphins. Thus, it would likely be advantageous for both he and the Falcons to reach an injury settlement once his health returns to par. If that does not occur, the pass catcher will be forced to miss the entire 2023 campaign.

Frank Darby: Waived/injured by Falcons
Darby (undisclosed) was waived/injured by Atlanta on Monday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
If Darby ultimately goes unclaimed off waivers, he will then revert to the Falcons' injured reserve. According to Terrin Waack of the team's official site, Darby is expected to be sidelined for about a week due to a soft-tissue injury. So, once his health is back up to par, Darby could still potentially play this season if both he and the team can come to terms on an injury settlement.
