  • Texans' Harrison Bryant: Untargeted in Week 3

Bryant was not targeted over 17 snaps in Sunday's 17-10 loss to Jacksonville.

Bryant is operating as the backup tight end to Dalton Schultz following injuries to Brevin Jordan (knee), Irv Smith (ankle) and Cade Stover (foot). Of the three injured players, only Stover is expected to play again in 2025, which means, at a minimum, Bryant will get consistent playing time for the next two weeks. He has zero catches on one target through two games, however.

  • Texans' Harrison Bryant: Targeted once in loss

Bryant did not catch his lone target in Monday's 20-19 loss to Tampa Bay.

Bryant was added to the 53-man roster following an injury to Cade Stover (foot). He was on the field for 37 percent of the offensive snaps, significantly lower than the 57 percent Stover had in Week 1.

  • Texans' Harrison Bryant: Officially joins active roster

Houston signed Bryant from its practice squad to its active roster Wednesday.

With major contributor Cade Stover bound for the Texans' injured reserve list Wednesday, the team is trying to add depth to its 53-man roster at tight end. As of right now, Bryant and starter Dalton Schultz are the only healthy tight ends on Houston's active roster.

  • Harrison Bryant: Headed to active roster

The Texans are planning on signing Bryant to their 53-man roster Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

The 27-year-old failed to make the Texans' initial 53-man roster in late August and spent time with the practice squad. However, with the Cade Stover sustaining a broken foot in Houston's Week 1 loss, Bryant is expected to be added to the team's active roster. He'll likely play as a depth piece in the Texans' tight end corps while Stover remains sidelined.

  • Harrison Bryant: Sticking with Texans

Houston signed Bryant to its practice squad Thursday.

Bryant was a casualty of cutdown day Tuesday, but he's sticking with Houston after the team acquired him in a trade with the Eagles on Aug. 17. Bryant has substantial NFL experience, playing in 78 regular-season games across five NFL campaigns. The Texans have just two healthy tight ends (Dalton Schultz and Cade Stover) on their 53-man roster, so Bryant is in good position to be elevated early in the campaign.

  • Harrison Bryant: Released by Texans

The Texans released Bryant on Tuesday.

Bryant played 13 games with the Raiders last season and posted nine catches (12 targets) for 86 yards. He signed with the Eagles in March and was subsequently traded to the Texans on Aug. 17 in a deal that had John Metchie going the other way. However, Bryant couldn't carve out a role, so the Texans' initial 53-man roster will feature tight ends Dalton Schultz and Cade Stover.

  • Texans' Harrison Bryant: Traded to Houston

The Eagles traded Bryant to the Texans on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Bryant was traded along with a 2026 fifth-round pick for John Metchie and a 2026 sixth-round pick. Bryant had signed with Philadelphia in March and will now compete with Cade Stover and Irv Smith to serve as Houston's No. 2 tight end behind Dalton Schultz.
