Wilson upgraded to a full practice Friday after beginning the week with consecutive limited sessions, suggesting he's moved past his knee injury in time to face the Chargers on Sunday. The veteran wideout was signed off the Saints' practice squad in late September and has yet to play this season. He'll likely play a reserve role in Miami's wide-receiver corps in Week 6.

Dolphins' Cedrick Wilson: Progressing through knee injury
Wilson (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Wilson was signed off the Saints' practice squad to the Dolphins' active roster Sept. 30, but he was unable to make his debut with his new team against the Panthers in Week 5 due to a knee injury. His ability to practice in at least a limited capacity indicates that he is progressing in his recovery, and his participation over the next two days will indicate his chances of playing against the Chargers on Sunday.

Wilson was signed by the Dolphins off the Saints' practice squad Tuesday, but it now appears he's dealing with an undisclosed injury. The Boise State product played in 15 games with the Saints in 2024, catching 20 of 27 targets for 211 yards and one touchdown. If Wilson is sidelined for the Week 5 matchup against the Panthers, Miami may add another wide receiver to its active roster to bolster depth with Tyreek Hill (knee) unavailable.

The Dolphins signed Wilson off the Saints' practice squad to the active roster Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The move gives Miami much-needed depth at wide receiver following Tyreek Hill's season-ending knee injury during Monday's win over the Jets. Wilson spent most of September on the Saints' practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster in training camp, but he'll get a new opportunity with the Dolphins in a depth role in the passing game behind Jaylen Waddle, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Malik Washington, Dee Eskridge and tight end Darren Waller. Wilson appeared in all three preseason contests for the Saints, totaling six receptions (on eight targets) for 53 yards. The 29-year-old had been competing with Mason Tipton, Kevin Austin and Dante Pettis for a spot as one of the top backup wide receivers behind Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Brandin Cooks. But he was pushed even further down the depth chart after New Orleans traded a fourth-round and seventh-round pick to acquire Devaughn Vele from the Broncos on Wednesday. Wilson is entering the final season of a two-year contract with New Orleans, and he agreed to reduce his 2025 base salary from $3.4 million to $1.17 million back in March, which should make it fairly easy for the Saints to move on if they choose to keep Tipton and Austin on the final 53-man roster over Wilson.

Wilson saw consistent playing time as the third or fourth wideout for the Saints this season. The 29-year-old joined New Orleans on a two-year, $5.2 million contract in March after spending his previous two seasons in Miami. Wilson was expected to provide some veteran depth behind top wideouts Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee), but he never made much of an impact even though the duo missed the final nine and 11 games of the season, respectively. Wilson logged more than three receptions in just one game, and he ultimately finished with less than 25 catches for the third season in a row.
