Packers' Jordan Love: May take snaps this week
Coach Matt LaFleur said the Packers are hopeful that Love (thumb) will be able to take snaps when the team reconvenes for practice Tuesday, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.
Love had surgery on Aug. 12 to address a ligament injury in his left thumb and was able to practice on a limited basis as of this past Monday. Green Bay predictably held him out of its final two preseason contests, allowing backup QB Malik Willis to get some run with the starters in Saturday's exhibition win against the Seahawks in particular. There's little concern about Love's availability for a Week 1 matchup with the Lions on Sunday, Sept. 7, and increasing his team drills this coming week would put him on pace to do so.

Packers' Jordan Love: Not playing in preseason finale
Love (thumb) isn't in uniform for Saturday's preseason finale against Seattle, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Love had surgery Aug. 12 on his left thumb and was a limited practice participant at last update. There's been no concern expressed about his Week 1 status, with Love fully expected to start in a home game against the Lions. The health of his wide receivers is more of a concern, with Jayden Reed (foot) and Dontayvion Wicks (calf) both missing extended time this summer.

Packers' Jordan Love: Taking part in 7-on-7s
Love (thumb) is participating in 7-on-7 drills at Monday's practice, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said over the weekend that the team would consider deploying modifications to 7-on-7 drills to allow Love to safely participate as he works his way back from surgery that he underwent Aug. 12 to address a ligament injury in his left thumb. Meanwhile, Romeo Doubs (back) has returned to practice and is working in team drills with Malik Willis, who will continue to handle first-team reps until Love is fully cleared. All indications from Green Bay are that Love is fully on track for Week 1 against Detroit on Sunday, Sept. 7, but it wouldn't be surprising for LaFleur to hold the starting quarterback out of Saturday's preseason finale against the Seahawks, even if it's possible he could suit up were it a regular-season affair. With Week 1 the clear priority, expect the Packers to take a cautious approach as Love ramps up his activity level.

Packers' Jordan Love: Limited in return to practice
Love (thumb) is returning to practice Monday, but backup quarterback Malik Willis will open first-team reps under center, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Love's left thumb remains heavily taped in a soft cast, and Packers coach Matt LaFleur already indicated that he wouldn't be a candidate to return to 11-on-11 reps this week. LaFleur did say Green Bay is considering making some alterations to 7-on-7 drills that would allow Love to participate, so it's possible he gets some team work in, but a timetable for the starting quarterback's full clearance remains undetermined. Love likely won't be a candidate to suit up for Saturday's preseason finale against the Seahawks, as the Packers continue to prioritize his availability for Week 1. Meanwhile, starting wideout Romeo Doubs (back) has returned to practice in some capacity Monday, per Ryan Wood of USA Today.

Packers' Jordan Love: Could return to practice Monday
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Sunday they'll "hopefully get [Love] back in some capacity to practice" this week and will "see how he's doing" Monday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's official site reports.
Love underwent surgery to address a ligament injury in his left thumb Tuesday, and he wore a soft cast while not participating in joint practices with the Colts on Thursday. Love did not suit up during Saturday's 22-19 preseason victory over Indianapolis, either. LaFleur added Sunday that the team will "alter some things" to get the quarterback involved during 7-on-7 sessions this week, so it's unclear if/when the team hopes to have him return in full during training camp. His last chance to play during the preseason will come during the finale against Seattle on Saturday, Aug. 23. However, the team likely will prioritize avoiding any setbacks for Love before the regular-season opener versus Detroit on Sunday, Sept. 7 -- especially as the team continues to work through injuries for wideouts Jayden Reed (foot), Romeo Doubs (back) and Dontayvion Wicks (calf) during training camp. Wideout Christian Watson (ACL) is still on the active/PUP list as well.

Packers' Jordan Love: Wearing cast on left hand
Love (thumb) is not practicing Thursday and is wearing a soft cast on his left hand, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Love won't practice as he continues to recover from surgery undergone to address a ligament injury in his left thumb, but the Packers still expect him to resume handling reps next weeks. The starting quarterback wasn't expected to suit up for Saturday's preseason game against the Colts even if healthy, but it now remains to be seen whether he'll be able to log action in the team's preseason finale against Seattle on Saturday, Aug. 23. Elsewhere on the roster, Jayden Reed (foot) shed his walking boot Thursday but remains unable to practice, as do Romeo Doubs (back), Dontayvion Wicks (calf) and active/PUP list resident Christian Watson (ACL).

Packers' Jordan Love: Needs procedure on left thumb
Love is undergoing a procedure for a ligament injury in his left thumb, with the Packers hoping he'll be back at practice next week, Paul Bretl of ESPN LaCrosse 105.5 reports.
Love suffered the injury during Saturday's preseason loss to the Jets, in which he completed one of five passes for seven yards over two drives. He wasn't expected to play in Green Bay's second preseason game anyway, and it sounds like he'll be back in practice well before the start of the regular season. The thumb injury would be a much bigger concern if it impacted his throwing hand. As is, Love doesn't seem to be in much danger of missing Week 1.
