Carter Coughlin: Shifts to practice squad IR
Coughlin (pectoral) reverted to the Giants' practice squad and was placed on the team's practice-squad injured list Monday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Coughlin made the Giants' initial 53-man roster, but it appears he's reverted to the team's practice squad after sustaining a pectoral injury Sunday. The Minnesota product has also been added to New York's practice squad IR, meaning he'll be forced to miss at least the team's next four games. Expect Ty Summers to see more work as a rotational linebacker and on special teams while Coughlin remains sidelined.

Giants' Carter Coughlin: Out for foreseeable future
Coughlin is expected to miss "months" after sustaining a pectoral injury during Sunday's 28-6 loss to the Vikings, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Coughlin played 10 special-teams snaps and failed to record a stat before leaving Sunday's contest with what appears to be a serious pectoral injury. The Giants are losing one of, if not their most impactful special-teams asset for the foreseeable future, and Ty Summers is expected to see more special-teams work in Coughlin's stead.

Coughlin (pectoral) has been downgraded to out after leaving Sunday's game against the Vikings, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
The backup linebacker did not record a stat before exiting. Coughlin played on eight combined defensive snaps over the past two seasons for New York, though he did play on more than 300 special-teams snaps in each campaign.

The 26-year-old linebacker had suffered a hip injury during New York's Week 12 win over the Patriots, but it now seems as if he's had enough time to move past the issue. Coughlin has appeared in 12 games for the Giants this season, recording six total tackles and playing almost strictly on special teams (two of 286 total snaps on defense).
