Morgan Fox: Let go by Atlanta
The Falcons released Fox on Saturday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.
Fox signed a two-year, $8.5 million contract with the Falcons in March after spending the last three seasons with the Chargers. He was competing for a rotational role at defensive end and finished the preseason with four tackles (two solo), but he won't be part of the Falcons' plans moving forward. Fox will explore his next options and should be able to catch on with a team looking for a veteran defensive end.

Falcons' Morgan Fox: Heading to Atlanta
Fox signed a two-year, $8.5 million contract with the Falcons on Friday, Matt Urben of USA Today reports.
Fox spent the last three years with the Chargers and played in every single regular-season game over that span. He finished the 2024 campaign with 27 tackles (19 solo), including 3.5 sacks, and one pass defense across 17 regular-season games. Fox bolsters the Falcons' defensive-line rotation, and his addition should help mitigate the sting of losing Pro Bowler Grady Jarrett to the Bears in free agency.

Chargers' Morgan Fox: Free agent after 3.5-sack season
Fox had 3.5 sacks among his 27 tackles (19 solo) and added one pass defensed in the 2024 regular season.
Fox dressed for all 17 regular-season games but started only three. He added two tackles (one solo) in the Chargers' wild-card round playoff exit against the Texans. The 30-year-old defensive lineman is set to be an unrestricted free agent after spending the past three seasons with the Chargers.

Chargers' Morgan Fox: Sticking with Bolts
The Chargers re-signed Fox on Wednesday, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Fox recorded career highs in tackles (38) and sacks (6.5) while playing every regular-season game during his first campaign with the Chargers in 2022. The 27-year-old defensive lineman has not missed a game since returning from a torn ACL suffered during OTAs with the Rams in 2018. He's also seen his overall production increase year-over-year while going from the Rams to the Panthers to the Chargers over the past four seasons. Fox will now look to maintain his starting role while on a new two-year on contract with the Bolts, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Chargers' Morgan Fox: Career year in '22
Fox finished the 2022-23 season with 38 tackles (24 solo), 6.5 sacks and an additional 1.5 tackles for loss across 17 games.
Fox had the best season of his career, setting new highs in both total tackles and sacks. The 28-year-old finished second on the team in sacks and tied for fourth in tackles for loss despite playing only 55 percent of the team's snaps. An unrestricted free agent this offseason, Fox should continue to provide value as a pass rusher either in Los Angeles or elsewhere next season.

Chargers' Morgan Fox: Notches sack in Week 17
Fox totaled four tackles (three solo), including a sack, in Sunday's 31-10 victory versus the Rams.
Fox made an impact early in the contest, sacking Baker Mayfield on the Rams' first drive of the game. It was Fox's fourth sack in his past four games after he notched just 2.5 sacks over his first 12 contests. With Sunday's sack, the veteran is up to 6.5 sacks on the campaign, surpassing the previous career-best six he set in 2020 while with the Rams.

Chargers' Morgan Fox: Career-best effort in win
Fox registered six tackles (five solo) and two sacks in Monday's 20-3 win over the Colts.
While the Chargers' pass-rushing corps continues to struggle with injury concerns, Fox stepped up with a career-high six stops in Week 16, while he also compiled his first two-sack performance as a professional Monday. The 28-year-old needs just two more tackles and one more sack to reach new career highs in those categories, and he'll have an opportunity to achieve those marks come New Year's Day against the Rams.
