Chris Finke: Can't stick with Bears
Chicago waived Finke on Tuesday, Adam Jahns of The Athletic reports.
Finke spent the offseason with the Bears after the team claimed him off waivers back in May, but he'll be left off the team's initial 53-man roster. Since going undrafted out of Notre Dame in 2020, Finke has yet to make his NFL debut.

The Bears claimed Finke off waivers from the Chiefs on Wednesday.
After getting cut by Kansas City on Tuesday, Finke will now make his way to a Chicago receiver room where he could have a more realistic path to winning a roster spot in 2022. He went undrafted out of Notre Dame in 2020 and has yet to make his NFL debut.

Finke had signed a reserve/future contract with the team Jan. 19 but will look to catch on elsewhere now. He originally was signed by the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2020 before signing with Kansas City last May.

The Chiefs signed Finke to a reserve/future contract Wednesday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
The wide receiver was waived from the Chiefs' injured reserve in August while dealing with an undisclosed injury, but he will return to the team for the 2022 season. Finke has yet to make his NFL debut, and it may be an uphill climb as he will be joining a very stacked roster in Kansas City.

Finke reverted to injured reserve after being waived/injured by the Chiefs last week, but he didn't remain on the reserve list for long. The 25-year-old is now able to sign elsewhere once healthy.

With River Cracraft having been ushered to the 53-man roster Monday, a spot reappeared on San Francisco's practice squad for the Notre Dame standout. Finke has been on and off the 49ers' practice team since joining the organization as an undrafted free agent in late April, though he hasn't yet made an appearance in the regular season. Over his final two collegiate seasons for the Irish between 2018 and 2019, Finke compiled 90 receptions for 1,027 yards and six total touchdowns.
