Jets' Kris Boyd: Condition upgraded to stable
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Wednesday that Boyd (shoulder) has been upgraded to stable condition and is "going to come out of this thing really, really well," Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.
Boyd was listed as being in critical but stable condition after being injured in a shooting Sunday, and after undergoing multiple procedures he's now been upgraded to stable condition. The cornerback and special-teams standout resides on season-ending IR due to a shoulder injury he suffered in August.

Jets' Kris Boyd: Critically wounded after shooting
Boyd (shoulder) was critically wounded early Sunday after being shot in New York City, Joe Marino, Jorge Fitz-Gibbon and Kirsten Fleming of the New York Post report.
Boyd was shot in the abdomen outside of a Manhattan restaurant following a dispute with gunmen, according to law enforcement. After the incident, Boyd was rushed to an area hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition. A 29-year-old cornerback, Boyd is in the midst of his seventh NFL season and has spent the entire 2025 campaign on the Jets' injured reserve list after sustaining a shoulder injury in August.

Jets' Kris Boyd: Moved to IR
The Jets placed Boyd (shoulder) on injured reserve Monday.
Boyd suffered a shoulder injury during practice in early August, and the issue is serious enough to result in the cornerback being placed on season-ending IR. After signing with New York in mid-March, Boyd had been slated to work as a backup in the secondary as well as serve as a core special-teamer.

Boyd had his practice reps limited as a result of the injury, and his status for Saturday's preseason opener against the Packers may now be in question. The 28-year-old signed a one-year deal with New York in March, and he stands to operate as a special-teams option in 2025.
