Britain Covey: Returns to Philadelphia
The Eagles signed Covey to the practice squad Thursday, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.
Covey spent the last three seasons with the Eagles, and he has returned to Philadelphia as a member of the practice squad after failing to make the Rams' 53-man roster at the end of training camp. Covey appeared in five regular-season games for the Eagles in 2024 and finished with seven catches (on eight targets) for 34 yards.

Britain Covey: Let go by Rams
The Rams waived Covey on Tuesday.
Covey signed a one-year deal with the Rams in March after spending his first three NFL seasons with the Eagles. He finished the preseason with nine catches (on 14 targets) for 76 yards while adding 16 return yards on two punts, but it wasn't enough for the Utah product to crack the Rams' 53-man roster. Covey will have the opportunity to explore his options if he clears waivers, and that includes staying in Los Angeles as a member of the Rams' practice squad.

Rams' Britain Covey: Four catches in preseason finale
Covey secured four of six targets for 32 yards and returned one punt for 14 yards during Saturday's 19-17 preseason loss to the Browns.
The veteran's final appearance in the preseason started off with quarterback Dresser Winn's first target of the game, which fell incomplete. More notable for Covey's chances of making the final 53-man roster was who wasn't out on the field Saturday, as Xavier Smith and Konata Mumpfield joined Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington as players who head coach Sean McVay chose to rest. Given Covey's rather quiet preseason, his most likely outcome is a spot on the Rams' practice squad, unless the team chooses to keep seven wideouts on its initial 53-man roster.

Rams' Britain Covey: Underwhelming in victory
Covey caught three of six targets for 13 yards and returned one punt for two yards during Saturday's 23-22 preseason victory against the Chargers.
On a day where many of the Rams wideouts battling to make the final cut had excellent games, Covey struggled to get anything going. Xavier Smith, Covey's primary competition for a roster spot, secured all four of his targets for 49 yards and protected his spot as the sixth (and potentially final) wideout on the Rams' initial 53-man roster. Covey will get one last chance to make an impression for his new team against the Browns in next week's preseason finale for the Rams.

Rams' Britain Covey: Makes most of two touches
Covey caught both of his targets for 31 yards during Saturday's 31-21 preseason win versus the Cowboys.
The former Eagles wideout notched a nifty 26-yard gain on a deep pass from Stetson Bennett, but he didn't get an opportunity to showcase his skills as a return man, which was his primary role back in Philadelphia. Xavier Smith is his main competition for that role with the Rams, and his incumbent status likely has the edge over Covey so far to retain the role. The most likely outcome for Covey is a spot on the practice squad and a role if injuries befall the wide receiver corps.

Rams' Britain Covey: Gets one-year deal with Rams
Los Angeles signed Covey (neck) to a one-year contract Monday.
Covey spent last year with the Eagles, securing seven of eight targets for 34 yards across his five regular-season appearances. A neck injury sustained Week 13 forced Covey to land on IR, and though he resumed practicing in full late during the playoffs, he wasn't able to gain clearance in time to suit up for Philadelphia's win over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. Now healthy, Covey will compete for an opportunity to earn a depth role with the Rams.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Ruled out for Super Bowl
Covey (neck), who remains on IR, practiced in full Friday and has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
Covey won't be activated from IR in time to contribute for the Super Bowl, despite his evident health at practice. In addition to his efforts as a punt returner, the 27-year-old logged seven catches for 34 yards on eight targets across his five regular-season appearances.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Logs full practice Wednesday
Covey (neck) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Covey hasn't played since Week 13 due to a neck injury, which was significant enough for the Eagles to place him on injured reserve. If he can log full practices all week, Covey would be a candidate to be activated from IR ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl matchup with the Chiefs. The 27-year-old wideout caught seven passes (on eight targets) for 34 yards across five appearances during the regular season and also contributed as a punt returner.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Listed as questionable
Covey (neck) is listed as questionable for Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9 against the Chiefs.
Covey was limited in practice all week and remains on injured reserve. The return man and depth receiver hasn't played since Week 13 and has seen action on just 50 offensive snaps all season. Covey will have another week of practice to get ready for the Super Bowl.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Ruled out to face Washington
Covey (neck), who remains on IR, was limited in practice Friday and is ruled out for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Commanders.
Covey logged three consecutive limited practice sessions this week, but he won't be activated to the 53-man roster in time for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against Washington. His next chance to return will arrive if Philadelphia advances to the Super Bowl via a win over the Commanders.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Practice window opens
The Eagles announced Wednesday that Covey (neck) has been designated for return from IR, which opens his 21-day practice window, Andrew DiCecco of InsideTheBirds.com reports.
Covey is being designated to return to practice at his earliest date of eligibility, which may bode well for his chances for gaining clearance to play in time for Sunday's home NFC Championship Game against the Commanders. Once he's gained full medical clearance and retakes the field, the third-year wideout will contribute in a depth role on offense, as well as take on work in the return game.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Placed on IR due to neck injury
The Eagles placed Covey (neck) on injured reserve Saturday.
Covey has been nursing a neck injury that he picked up against the Ravens in Week 13. That has forced him to be sidelined for the Eagles' last three games, and he has already been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Cowboys. Covey's placement on IR means his regular season is over, but he could return in the postseason if the Eagles make it to the NFC Championship Game. Covey will finish the 2024 regular season with seven catches (on eight targets) for 34 yards while adding 46 punt return yards in five games.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Won't play in Week 17
Covey (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Cowboys.
Covey has been dealing with a neck issue since Dec. 1, when he was injured in a win over the Ravens. The third-year wideout didn't play in any of the Eagles' subsequent three games, but it appeared he could return this week after being deemed a full practice participant Wednesday and Thursday. However, Covey didn't practice Friday, so he may have suffered a setback. Kenneth Gainwell likely will continue to handle kick returns with Covey out of action.
