Lions' Malik Jefferson: Placed on IR
Detroit placed Jefferson (undisclosed) on the reserve/injured list Tuesday.
Jefferson played 19 snaps (seven on defense, 12 on special teams) in Saturday's preseason game against the Chiefs. It's not clear when he picked up the injury or the nature of it, but the 2018 third-round pick will now be forced to sit out the entire 2024 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with Detroit.

Lions' Malik Jefferson: Gets chance with Detroit
Jefferson signed with the Lions on Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Jefferson played in three regular-season games with the Cowboys last season, logging six snaps on defense and 60 on special teams. He'll have an opportunity to compete for a roster spot with Detroit during training camp and would presumably take on a similar special-teams and depth role if he's able to make the squad.

Jefferson signed with the Cowboys' practice squad Wednesday, Patrick Walker of the team's official site reports.
Jefferson was released during final roster cuts but will now stick around in Dallas, albeit on the practice squad. The 26-year-old has seemingly recovered from a plantar fascia injury suffered during the first preseason game and could provide solid depth if called up for action.

Cowboys' Malik Jefferson: Needs MRI
Jefferson suffered a plantar fascia injury during Saturday's preseason game against the Jaguars.
Jefferson will undergo an MRI on Sunday to find out the extent of the damage. The 26-year-old is working to earn a depth role in the Cowboys' linebacker corps, so a quick recovery would definitely be ideal for the Texas product.

Cowboys' Malik Jefferson: Signs new deal with Dallas
Jackson signed a reserve/future contract with the Cowboys on Wednesday.
Jefferson joined Dallas last offseason and failed to appear in a game during the 2022 campaign, but he'll have another shot to secure an active roster spot in 2023. The 26-year-old has operated mostly as a special-teams option over his five-year professional career.
