Damon Arnette: Released by Houston
Arnette was released by the Texans on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The cornerback signed with Houston in June and picked off a pass in the preseason, but it wasn't enough to help him stick on the Texans' 53-man roster. Arnette was a first-round pick of the Raiders in 2020, but he has not appeared in an NFL regular-season game since 2021. He has 29 career tackles (23 solo) and three pass breakups.

Texans' Damon Arnette: Attempting comeback with Texans
Arnette signed a one-year contract with Houston on Wednesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Arnette has had a tumultuous NFL career since being selected by the Raiders in the first round of the 2020 Draft, with his last regular-season appearance having been back in 2021. He served a three-game suspension as a free agent in 2023. Most recently, Arnette played for the Houston Roughnecks in the last season of the UFL. In the wake of Ronald Darby's retirement, Arnette may be facing a real chance to compete for a roster spot in training camp.

Damon Arnette: Suspension lifted
Arnette had his three-game suspension lifted by the NFL on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Arnette opened the season unavailable for three games after violating the league's personal conduct policy, but he will now be able to return to action. The cornerback is a free agent and he last appeared in an NFL contest in 2021. That season he played in four games with the Raiders, recording four tackles and a pass deflection.

Damon Arnette: Gets three-game suspension
The NFL handed Arnette a three-game suspension Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports
Arnette's suspension is presumably the result of a violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy, stemming from his indictment this past May for assault with a deadly weapon and other firearms-related charges. A 2020 first-round pick, Arnette appeared in 13 games for Las Vegas over two seasons before being released in November 2021. He's since had stints with the Dolphins and Chiefs but hasn't appeared in an NFL game since being cut loose by Las Vegas.

Damon Arnette: Signs contract with Chiefs
The Chiefs signed Arnette to a reserve/future contract Thursday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
Arnette joined the Dolphins practice squad in mid-December after being waived by the Raiders in early November, but he failed to appear in any games with the team before the end of the season. The former first-round pick will now join the Chiefs for the 2022 campaign while still looking to secure his first career interception.
