Travell Dixon: Removed from injured reserve
Dixon (ankle) was removed from injured reserve with an injury settlement, Max Henson of the Panthers' official site reports.
Dixon has already been ruled out for the remainder of the regular season with an ankle injury, but in getting the injury settlement, he'll now be eligible to sign with another team once he is healthy.

Panthers' Travell Dixon: Returns to injured reserve
Dixon (ankle) cleared waivers and returned to the Panthers' injured reserve on Friday, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Dixon injured his ankle earlier in the week, and will miss the remainder of the season as a result. He played one regular-season game with the Panthers last season, and will have to wait until next year for another opportunity.

Travell Dixon: Waived by Carolina
Dixon (ankle) was waived by the Panthers with an injury designation on Thursday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Dixon injured his ankle on Tuesday and his release likely indicates it's relatively severe. If he clears waivers he'll revert to Carolina's injured reserve.

Dixon was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster Tuesday, Bryan Strickland of the Panthers' official site reports.
Dixon was signed to fill the roster spot that was opened as a result of Tre Boston (knee) moving to injured reserve. Dixon has yet to play in an NFL game in his career but he may get a chance against Tampa Bay on Sunday, when he'll likely be a depth option in the secondary and could play on special teams.

Dixon left Saturday's preseason matchup with an apparent chest injury and is questionable to return, Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer reports.
In his NFL debut last week, Dixon tallied three tackles against Baltimore. The Washington product has taken reps at both cornerback and safety for Carolina in the early going, but with a lot of uncertainty surrounding Dixon and his injury, it remains to be seen if he'll be able to squeak onto the roster by preseason's end.
