Cowboys' Dante Fowler: Links up with Dallas
The Cowboys signed Fowler to a one-year contract worth up to $8 million Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Fowler impressed with 10.5 sacks across 17 regular-season appearances with the Commanders in 2024, just the second double-digit sack year of his nine seasons to date in the NFL. Now heading into his 10th campaign, Fowler will get an opportunity to keep up his momentum as an integral part of Dallas' pass rush he was also part of in 2022 and 2023, a unit headlined by Micah Parsons. The landing spot could allow him to maintain some fantasy value in IDP formats.

Commanders' Dante Fowler: Explodes for 10.5 sacks in 2024
Fowler finished the 2024 regular season with 39 tackles (25 solo), including 10.5 sacks, along with an interception that he returned for a touchdown and two forced fumbles over 17 games.
Prior to 2024, Fowler had just one double-digit sack season to his name -- he racked up 11.5 sacks while working alongside Aaron Donald with the Rams in 2019. He worked in a rotational role in Dallas in 2022 and 2023, but Washington gave Fowler more opportunity after signing him to a one-year contract last March. The results were impressive, as Fowler led the Commanders with 10.5 sacks, ranking tied for 12th in the NFL in that category. Of that total, 8.0 sacks came in a six-game stretch from Week 5 to Week 10, and Fowler did fade a bit late, as he recorded just five stops with no sacks over three playoff games. Nonetheless, the Commanders will likely have interest in bringing him back for 2025, though Fowler's big regular season could result in a steep price in the free-agent market.

Commanders' Dante Fowler: Logs another sack in OT win
Fowler recorded two total tackles (one solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday's 30-24 overtime win over the Falcons.
The 30-year-old was one of two Commanders to tally a sack in Sunday's overtime win, bringing down rookie Michael Penix in the third quarter. Fowler is quietly having a very productive season in his first year with the Commanders, recording 35 total tackles, including a team-leading 10.5 sacks (No. 10 in the NFL), and one pick-six while appearing in all 16 of the team's regular-season games so far. He's expected to remain one of the NFL's best edge rushers in Week 18, when the Commanders face the Cowboys.

Commanders' Dante Fowler: Logs full practice Wednesday
Fowler (groin) was a full participant in practice Wednesday.
Fowler was dealing with a hip injury in the lead-up to Washington's Week 13 win over Tennessee, but he was able to play in that contest, logging 62 percent of the team's defensive snaps. The veteran linebacker is now listed as having a groin issue following the Commanders' Week 14 bye, but his ability to practice in full Wednesday suggests he's not in danger of missing Sunday's matchup against New Orleans. Fowler leads Washington with 8.5 sacks on the campaign.
